In this post (http://www.talkrational.org/showpost.php?p=26643&postcount=89) of the "If Dave is Right About..." thread, Dave was insightful enough to offer this resonse about nuclear waste disposal:
7) Might as well store it above ground if I don't know how old the rock is? Wow. You've got to be kidding. I'm quite sure it's much better to store it underground whether you think you know the age of the rock or not.
Since Dave doesn't want to read any books, and would rather be spoon-fed his information in the discussion threads, I thought this might be a good opportunity to stand up, show his courage, and get hisself eddicated.
So, since discussion-based education requires the Socratic method of question, hypothesis, answer, and critique, lets see how well Dave makes use of this technique.
First off, Dave -- why do you think it's better to store nuclear waste underground regardless of how old you think the formation is? Does the actual location of that storage make any difference at all?
Please elaborate.
Let's take it one small step at a time. Thanks.
