AiG offers a series of online creationist courses for secondary students:
APO 101 — Foundations in Creation Apologetics
APO 201 — Creation Apologetics and the Bible
APO 202 — Creation Apologetics and Biology
APO 203 — Creation Apologetics and Geology
APO 204 — Creation Apologetics and Astronomy
Here's a course description of APO 203:
APO 203 Overview
Topics
* Flood geology vs. Uniformitarianism
* The “geologic column” and geologic time
* Fossil evidence
* Radiometric dating techniques
* Grand Canyon formation
* Mount Saint Helens evidences
* Plate tectonics
* Ice Age
Activities
* Discussion forums where instructors and students can interact
* Online quizzes with immediate feedback
* Online videos with integrated study guides
* Live chats with the instructors
* Independent projects that apply what you have learned
* Reading assignments that will engage and equip you
Goals
Upon completing the course, students will be able to:
* Relate the origin of the concept of millions years as a Christian compromise position.
* State the basic concepts behind radiometric dating methods.
* Describe major differences between Catastrophism and Uniformitarianism.
* Describe the layers of the geologic column and the fossils they contain as a result of the original Creation events and the Flood.
* Use specific examples of geologic anomalies to discredit Uniformitarianism.
* Describe how plate tectonics and the Flood have played an important role in shaping the earth.
No doubt Dave would highly recommend the courses to secondary students and perhaps to his kids. I would like to recommend another course for the creationist curriculum:
APO 301: Creationist Apologetics Rhetorical Argumentation
Topics:
- Quotemining
- Goalpost shifting
- Rehashing
Activities:
- Comb through a selected evolution publication to pluck out isolated quotes that can be made to look like they refute evolution
- Quizzes [answering "Goddidit" to each question will earn the student a grade of 100%]
- Go to an evolution forum at an atheist website and repeat the same creationist argument at least 10 times
I'll leave it up to someone more imaginative than me to come up with a more extensive curriculum. :)
This reminds me of an oldie but goodie (one of the contributors was our very own lpetrich):
Mark Harpt's Secrets to Rhetorical Success (http://www.ediacara.org/harpt.html)
Does anybody here think a certain creationist present may have taken Harpt's advice to heart? :p
