I attend Northeastern State University in Oklahoma and every time I ask someone who they want to win, they tell me such and such but they can never tell me WHY they are voting for them. So, who and why? :)

I will start...

I am most likely voting for Obama. My reasons are both pro and con. Obama is a "new generation" leader and I think that he will bring change to the direction of where our Country is going. On the issue of Iraq, I think its the main plan for the Republicans ( mind you, I am one ) to force democracy on a country, I don't agree with that, let's get the terrorist out and stop trying to force them into a certain form of government. That's just one issue I have. McCain, will keep the country going in the same direction, I don't like it. Hillary has brought hate into her campaigns, she's not ready.

Obama, he seems to be the lesser evil.

Obama, because this country needs a swing to the left.

Good point, FB.

The problem with politics is that politicians never tell you what they actually think, or what they actually plan to do. If they did they'd never get elected. part of my vote for Obama is that the hope that he is more liberal than he is letting on.

I like Obama because I found his keen intellect and idealism very attractive. I was first exposed to him when I read his book. I like the idea of a leader that wants to be less divisive and is willing to compromise. I believe it is time for an idealistic leader who can give the US a much more positive image than what we currently have. Of course Obama is not perfect, may not be able to solve many of our complex problems any better than anyone else, but I like him much better than the alternatives.

I'm sick of the Clinton dynasty. If you read enough about it, you'll find plenty of evidence that Clinton's campaign has been poorly run and mismanaged until recently, which makes me doubt her executive competency. Imo, she has become almost Orwellian, making false claims about Obama and making false promises and telling lies about her own experience. I think she is perceived as an incredibly divisive figure and is potentially less electable than Obama. I honestly think that even the state of Georgia could be in play with Obama as a candidate. He has massive white and black support here. Clinton is far too hated down here to take my state.

My primary concerns are health care reform and the war in Iraq so you can understand why I would never vote for McCain.

I like Obama and Hillary...
I like Obama more.
But at age 44...this is the FIRST time in my life that I didn't have to chose between two "evils"... This time I get to chose who I like BEST!
How refreshing!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Obama because hes genuine.

I worked on his campaign in illinois and brought him to my school several times. Ive had the now rare opportunity to actually speak with him on issues.

We all know that he could someday be president, we never though it would be this soon!

I had a very difficult time with deciding who to vote for in the primary here.

I LIKED a lot of the things both Obama and Hillary said. I especially liked the fact that Hillary wants to resurrect the Congressional Office of Technology Assessment. I was concerned that both Hillary and Obama would each have "electability problems" of their own, but I felt Obama was more likely to overcome his. After all Sen. Clinton has been demonized by the far right for twenty years and I have even heard otherwise rational people say, "I have nothing against the idea of a woman President, but I won't vote for THAT woman."

If this sounds a lot like Realpolitik it's because it is, somewhat. Of all the issues in this campaign, I believe the most important one is that the neo-cons get sent home with their collective noses thoroughly bloodied as a reminder that we elect Presidents in this country, not emperors.

Anyhow, when it was all said and done, I went for Obama, but it was almost a "Stand in the booth and flip a coin" decision.
