So, I'm 10 days in to a 12 week exercise programme. Very strict exercise and diet regime - it's quite well publicised as the 'Body For Life' programme written by a chap called Bill Philips.

These are my before pictures, taken on Sunday 3 March 2008. Those of a nervous disposition may want to look away now:

When those pictures were taken I weighed 13 stones and had a 39 inch waist - I don't mind the 13 stone bit but the 39" waist is not funny.

A decade ago I was a toned gym rat with a 32" waist weighing 14 stone. I want to get back to that ultimately.

Good luck! Yay you!

I'm putting myself on a diet today, too.

Currently at 62kgs - 1.5kgs increase since the beginning of the year and 7kgs off where I should be.

I'd be okay if I stopped all the snacking between meals, I think. And started eating things that resembled vegetables once in a while.

And no, I ain't posting before pics of my gut

I love that come hither look in the second one. :D

Do me a favor, will you? Try to be inspiring. My dieting and exercise days are about to begin and I need a role model.

I lost 5 pounds since the xmas cookie debacle so I'm back where I should be, but I'm going to hang out here for inspiration anyway.

I don't know that I can deal with the weight of expectation...

Still, part of the reason I posted was to give myself more of a reason to keep on track, knowing that people are there to laugh at me if it all goes wrong.

Almost 2 weeks in and I've stuck rigorously to my diet and exercise schedule. The scales say I've lost about 4lbs, although as I said that's not my primary consideration.

I'll try and post pictures on a monthly basis.

I've lost at least 10 since I went on my low-cholesterol diet.

Barely even qualify as pudgy. Could use a wax job though...

heh, I'm back on the anemia diet... probably not the best from a health and fitness perspective, but I've lost 2 pounds this week without even changing anything.

Everybody who is doing it right, good for you and stick with it! :D

YEAH FLU!!!!

However, I was on that exact diet onetime. Supplements and all. I gained 30lbs and tripled my benchpress.

Good luck.

My diet isn't going well. What with the Easter buns on Friday, family birthday today (lots of food, lots of cake), the upcoming day of foodening at the Easter Show tomorrow (a mixture of an agricultural show, a market and a funfair), things are looking bad.

Will get better after Monday. Need to eat all the crap I buy tomorrow then.

You're too kind, even if I am slightly wondering about your eyesight now...

Thanks for the egoboost.

5 weeks in now, and aside from a couple of minor lapses when at networking functions where you have to eat to be polite, I've been sticking strictly to my diet. I've fitted in all my gym sessions - 3 weights sessions a week and 3 cardio sessions a week. The weights are steadily going up.

I'm wearing a pair of pants that I couldn't fit in to 6 weeks ago, I've lost 3" off my waist and 4lb, although I expect and hope to actually finish up weighing more than I started with extra muscle. I don't think I look much different yet, but I'm starting to see indications it's working.

We spent £300 on an elliptical cross trainer earlier this week. Not for me - I'm happy with the stationary bike or a treadmill - but my wife fancied one.

9 weeks in now, and I've lost 10 lb and 4" from my waist. I had to go buy some new jeans last week because none of my old ones fit me.

In addition to my normal exercises I've started on an abs schedule 3 times a week. I'm getting the fat off, I intend to have the muscle underneath to show once it's gone.

I'm well in to this. I'm on a 12 week programme, so only 3 weeks left on that, but I intend to carry on pretty much doing what I'm doing. It's no great hardship and I'm enjoying seeing some gains.

I'll stick another picture up at the end of the 12 weeks.

That's great Pendaric - congratulations.

I have the opposite problem right now because of medications. I never want to eat and I have to force myself to choke down enough calories not to keep losing weight. I think that I could stand to lose another 10 pounds but my doctor and housemate say that's nuts. I think that they just like heavier women.
