Ray Boltz was one of my favorite singers when I was a Christian. Many of his songs touched my heart. The evangelical Christian community isn't taking his being gay well.

I feel sorry for him. Hiding that part of himself and pretending all those years and living with that guilt has had to be tortuous.

Part of me feels sorry for him. The other part of me assumes that all Christian music artists must be gay. At least that's how their music strikes me.

I guess the real meaning of this will be found in any comment he may make about anti-homosexual doctrine in the majority of Christian denominations. I thought it was interesting that he tried to "cure" his case of teh gay without success. Psychologically he still seems bound by dogma.

Daaaamn!
Christians who don't understand that homosexuality is caused by giving legals grounds to homosexual devils will be forever confused how someone like Ray Boltz can claim he "was born a homosexual." Clearly someone in Ray's family lines gave grounds to such devils before Ray was ever born and it was passed on down to Ray as a generational curse from "Day One" of his life in the womb.

I can understand Ray's frustration with this seeming "homosexual bent from birth" if he doesn't understand generational curses and the devils who facilitate this contamination. We just need to agree with God and His desire to bring someone into Ray's life who can help him get rid of these homosexual devils. He's a precious and mighty brother who just needs to be rescued, not condemned.

Whether a person picks up these homosexual spirits of perversion generationally or volitionally, the solution is always the same--the Blood of Jesus and a person(s) willing to command the devils to leave.

and evolutionism.
and any thing else that this particular type of vile christian wants to include here.

By saying it's caused by the devil, it makes the person helpless, and the only way it can be dealt with is by being cast out. If you are helpless, then of course you are dependant on people like this to do the casting out. Because if they are made to realize that it's not a devil, that it's part of the nature of man, they can't cast it out, and it calls their own wickedness into question.

I don't like this form of christianity very much. Makes me feel violent.

Wonder how this asshole rationalizes the bit about the sins of the fathers shouldn't be visited on the sons?

Of course, there's also bits that say those sins are visited on the sons. Ain't Christian doublethink wonderful?
:yuck:

They're not gay. They just love Jesus.

I want to get down on my knees and start pleasing Jesus!
I want to feel his salvation all over my face!

"Oh, how I love Jeee-sus
Oh, how I looove Jee-eee-sus
Oh how I love Jee-sus
Because he first loved me!"

Hmmm, does sound a bit... suspicious... doesn't it?

I've often wondered how hispanic men dealt with the "Love Jesus" thing.

I think the late Freddie Prince had a short skit about that: "Love Jesus?!!! No, that was just once, and we were just kids!"

In the Blade article, he says his views evolved such that he thought the prohibition against homosexuality would change just as many evangelical churches no longer enforce the Biblical prohibition against divorce. One of the commenters says that the rules against divorce were man's law, but the prohibition of homosexuality is God's law. I bet that commenter doesn't know that both come primarily from the writings of Paul and that he was harsher on divorce than on homosexuality. I bet if he or she did read Paul and figure it out, his or her opinion still wouldn't change.

This poem got it's publishers prosecuted for blasphemy in the UK back in the 70s.
