I've just booked my ticket for the British Grand Prix.
I'm not obsessive about motor racing, but I've watched it on the tele on and off for years and I thought it was about time I attended one live.

How exciting! F1 isn't my favorite form of racing, but I certainly find it interesting. Those guys can drive. Hubby and I were watching a bit of the F1 race today and once more, I was amazed by how violent the ride is. I don't really understand how they can drive as well as they do pulling those kinds of g-forces and bouncing all over the place.

MotoGP is more to my liking, but I'll catch some F1 racing whenever I can. I have tickets to the MotoGP race at the Brickyard this year; Indy is only a 4 hour ride from my house. It should be fun.

Yeah I am a big F1 fan although I'll admit to bailing out in the middle of some seasons back around 2002 -2003 when it looked like Schumacher might win every race.
Last year though was great, 4 possible champions right up into the last two races. I would love to attend a GP but the closest one to me is the one in Montreal and they want $500 a ticket.
I hear it is much more reasonable in Europe.

More of a MotoGP and Superbike/Supersport fan myself, but I appreciate F1 racing. I used to follow it when I lived in Europe, and it was televised on the 'regular' TV channels.
I watched a bit of the Le Mans, which I always enjoy, and I caught the last half of the F1 race this last weekend. Those cars are insane!! The lateral Gees they pull in the turns....looks like fun. :D
tjakey, you're going to the MotoGP in Indy?? How much were tickets? I'm still considering it, but that's a 10+ hour drive, and I'd like to take my bike, but that would probably be more expensive in the long run. (If I took my truck, I could sleep in the back or take my tent along.)
Second MotoGP race is this weekend!
Cheers,
Lane

Same as Nascar, i like the crashes, and the odd ballsy overtake, otherwise its much less exciting than watching the little guy play with his Lightening McQueen Scalectrix for three hours.
I prefer the bikes and rally stuff as far as motor-sports go, though I'm not massively into any of it. I always thought it massively unfair that multiple world champ Foggy got so little press compared to wankers like Damon Hill, shit most people have never heard of him which is not right.
.
I loved watching Charlie Boorman shit pants and bail out of the Paris Dakaar too. I had money on the fact that he was 95% mouth, 5% stubborn pride and 0% balls, unlike that Simon Pavey , who was just 100% ballsy awesomeness .

Lane, I'll have to check on the ticket price but it couldn't have been too bad, otherwise I wouldn't be going. We have hotel rooms and are taking the bikes. Deb will be on her ZX-14 and I will take the GSXR 1000. The Beemer will stay in the garage.

I could never get into F1. I'm a bloke, so I'm supposed to, but it passes me by. At great speed.
I really don't understand the attraction of watching high-speed sandwich-boards for condoms and cigarettes.
And the corrupt soap opera that is the organisation behind it... bribes to the Labour Party? Bribes everywhere? One teams gets fined $100m for espionage while another is let off. All under the control of a guy with a seriously sinister pedigree.

Oh yeah Mosely is a son of a bitch with a hate on for Ron Dennis at McLaren and in love with Jean Todt at Ferrari. He even suggests Todt as his replacement, now that sounds like it is impartial doesn't it.
Renault is the only smart team, the CEO has made it clear he is not fond of motorsports and doesn't think F1 does anything for Renault. He has been threatening to withdraw for years, if he had been fined he likely would have and that scared Mosely into letting them off

Pen - how much are the tickets?

I've got crap general admission tickets without an allocated seat, because that's all they had left. They were £98 each for the Sunday, but you can pay in the thousands if you take the best seats with the hospitality packages.

Just in case you thought F1 it was boring.

If you have the stomach for it you can find some of the details of Sir Max getting pummeled by 5 hookers.

Anyone watch the race in Bahrain today? I'm not a huge F1 fan, but it was pretty good...at least, the race for 3-5th was. :p
