The beam cuts a clean hole in his chest and is gone almost as quickly as the blowback circuits cut it off, ensuring minimal collateral damage. HAMMER gulps for air that is denied him for a scant few seconds before collapsing in a heap.

With practiced haste you draw a vibro-blade and excise his cortical stack, which you hand off to a waiting courier to be delivered to the Martyr Priest for examination. As you do this you notice that HAMMER was wearing an Acklin-Hauri combat sleeve.

You didn't notice how cool the evening had gotten in the last few minutes.
