Day 2: The Ink of the Scholar

You wake as the sun pierces the horizon and floods your bedchamber with radiation. But no ezan has sounded. Curious..

You mutter a brief prayer and crank your hearing to its upper limits and realize there is a commotion outside in the square. You dress hastily and rush outside to catch yourself up on the situation.

You should have remained in bed. Or at least prayed more deeply before emerging.

In the center of the square of justice you find ELV has been somehow attached to the flag pole there, his slug rifle across his shoulders and his arms draped over it, forming a familiar, rudimentary cross. Carved directly into his chest in Arabic is an inscription:

ONE HAND OF GOD, HA HA HA

Upon closer inspection you realize he was hung there with his own intestines. He was eviscerated, and his stack was roughly cut out of his skull. He was wearing an Eishundo sleeve.

Shortly thereafter you learn that damian was found in his quarters, on his bed. A single shard-pistol wound between the eyes. A silent weapon, you note.

damian's sleeve was a Nakamura combat custom. You're somewhat surprised that the single shot was enough, given their reputation for extremely tough synthetic bone structure. You're less surprised that his stack was carefully removed.

ELV is a strong, experienced player. not many people know that about ELV on this forum that I know of.

since i suspect him to be the scum kill I'd suspect at least one of thinker, ravenscape, or dancer to be scum. Not only because the scum kill was elv but that they didn't go for damian. If you are experienced you know damian is usually protected on night 1. though in this case it seems the doctor either hasn't played with us before or had someone else to protect.

out of those 3 I suspect already, dancer makes that whole "How terrible! 2 experienced players in one night!" post.

- the WOGE got a successful protect in
- there was a target overlap
- Kovacs or Ertekin tried to kill the other

One other possibility on the night kill is that a player didn't specify one. Assuming halii's right about the modus of a scum kill, then kovacs or ertekin failed to make a kill, which might point to Tawny.

Oh man this is just priceless!

I am the seer, and viewed thinker as scum the first night.
I contacted ravenscape, who delayed a bit claiming 'not sure what to do', but posted fairly quickly.

Now I received a PM (also sent to dancer) which showed communication between ravenscape and dancer about what to do, with raven claiming he'd be paranoid as hell "if he weren't scum"! and dancer warning about what would happen if I viewed raven and lived to tell about it.
It seems ravenscape accidentally pressed 'reply to all' instead of 'reply'. Got to love newbies.
