I like Natasha a lot too. If you haven't seen Slums of Beverly Hills I highly recommend that to anyone. Natasha is pretty damn good in it and it's an all around good movie with a great cast.

I remember liking her in But I'm a Cheerleader but honestly don't remember enough of the movie now to say whether it's worth recommending to everyone.

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (2013)

Not having seen the original adaption from 1947 with Danny Kaye, whom I never really cared for, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this one given I feel pretty much the same way about Ben Stiller. Stiller is not necessarily a bad actor but he's just not my cup of tea and tends to star in a lot of things I'm pretty much jaded by. Namely, rubber-stamped comedies and rom-coms in which he's pretty much the same fucking guy.

I bought into it and found myself moved a lot more than I thought I would.

More accurately, there are unrealistic moments in the movie alongside some low-key humor. But I was enjoying it enough to forgive those moments, encouraged to suspend a little extra disbelief that would normally turn me off.

It's getting pretty dated, but it's still relevant to LGBT kids just coming out. I'd certainly recommend it to people outside metropolitan areas where ostracizing LGBT kids is still official policy. I loved SOBH as well. My favorite Lyonne movie though is Freeway II: Confessions of a Trickbaby which is an unadulterated mess but as long as you embrace the mess it's hilarious.

Her personal life is interesting as well. Best way I can figure it out is that she was 13 or 14 when she was making the same mistakes most of us make at 19 or 20.

Saw Hush. Directed by Mike Flanagan (Oculus and Absentia). It's an above average thriller, smarter than most, with nothing particularly new to offer, but very well made with an excellent performance by Kate Siegel.

Citizen X sounds interesting. I like Max von Sydow. Hail Ming.

One of my favorite scenes of his is in Judge Dredd. It's a really low-angle shot looking up at Max's face while he delivers a dramatic line. As he speaks you can see this nice stringy booger waving around inside his nostril. Makes me regret never seeing it on the big screen as it must have looked like Schwarzenegger's arm flapping around up in there.

Captain America: Civil War.

Lots of characters but the movie wasn't overcrowded with them.
Even more twists and build ups than Batman and Superman but everything fit together well.

And Aunt May is a hottie.

We're a DC Family: I cherish the '65 or so issue of Batman in my hope chest where a letter writer derided the gratuitous "coy buddy-buddy language" the editor of the competition house used to reply to the letter writers!

Saw Mother's Day; mighty disjointed rom-com ensemble kinda like Love, Actually with seemingly disconnected characters, but American. Second Anniston-Sudekis pairing, though! The chemistry's there. Margo Martindale shines as racist-homophobe Grandma upset one daughter's queer and the other married an elephant jockey (MM is from same hometown as me da-Jacksonville, Texas).
