Help Naming Old Computer Games
I'm not really a gamer, but over the years I've bought a few games. Unfortunately, I cannot find two I remember having fun playing, and I cannot even remember their names. Perhaps somebody can help. Most likely I got a demo of the game from PC Gamer magazine and then bought it. I figure these would be from 2004 to 2008.
The first was a driving game. The idea was to get through a course really fast. It wasn't a big name racing game, and the courses were totally unrealistic. As I recall there were some loops. One course was like being on a big multi-level parking garage type thing where (I think) you had to jump from one platform to another. I recall another level being on the ground rather than pavement. Another game was space shooter sorta like Defender meets Galaga. You had to navigate through some space course encountering various ships with varying ability. There were some stationary ships/stations that did things like shoot out fire periodically or fire lasers. If anybody can give me names of games to check out, I would be most grateful. If you need to ask questions, maybe that will trigger my memory and get you or me the detail I need to find the game.

Your space flight one wasn't Zaxxon, was it?
I can't believe I remembered that name. I was searching on space flight side scroller 3d, and not seeing anything like what I was looking for. Typed in Zaxon 3d, and it came right up.

Nope, not Zaxxon. I guess you'd call the game a side-scroller. Each level was getting from one point to the next. I remember their being boss type ships that took forever to destroy. If you got too close, they would shoot out fireballs.
Yeh, I know my descriptions suck. Sorry. BTW, played Trackmania yesterday. What a blast! I suck at video games, but that's one I enjoyed. I also enjoyed Return to Castle Wolfenstein. Around the same time I tried Far Cry, but it was just way too hard for me.

Thanks for trying. That's not it either. It was much more modern looking. I think I recall being surprised that in that time period (call it ~2005) anybody was making that kind of space game. As little bits come back to me, I remember enjoying the music...

i don't remember zaxxon for the 2600 but i played in on the commodore 64. i looked online and the 2600 version is not isometric which was what made zaxxon special. but maybe it was still an awesome game.

there was one game I played on the Amstrad CPC 464.... You were in some kind of spaceship moving from screen to screen, and a few screens in there was a kind of volcano next to this elevator tube. Anyone know that one?
