Is anyone else having issues?

I keep getting "The host could not be resolved", but it usually clears up in a few minutes. Happening several times per day.

Last time it happened I tried http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/ and they said it was just me.

Weird, for me it's only at work, and it's very intermittent. It probably works just fine 70-80% of the time.

make sure your pc and browser are set not to use a proxy

for windows and ie
control panel -> internet settings -> connections tab -> [lan settigns] button -> untick proxy

other broswer settigns should be in options/connection

Proxy is unchecked. And it just happened when I was trying to reply in this thread

So, the fact that it can't find the host means there's no DNS entry? Usually connectivity problems would have ping failing to connect on 4 repeated tries, right?

That worked 84 times in a row. THe worst time I saw was 36ms but probably 75 of them at 8 or 9ms. I'll try again next time I get host unavailable.

Today no issues, yesterday on and off. I was never able to catch it disappearing on me with ping -t

Ok, now this is interesting. I kept the window open with the ping -t and it never missed.

The browser got host unresolveable again (ping -t still responding). I opened another cmd window and tried to ping and it failed.

So... The ping -t instance has the domain name lookup cached and is pinging by IP address? And the browser and 2nd window are reaching out to the DNS to lookup the name and getting no result?

Then 30 seconds later everything works again.

I had a similar issue months ago, only with a bunch of different websites, including TR and MR. The problem was something to do with my router, which I'd had for a couple years. I've no idea what changed, nothing I did. Eventually I tossed the router and got a modem/router from my ISP. Haven't had the problem since.

I had problems off and on all summer, and flushdns always resolved them.

But, it usually affected more than TR.

Basically, my first line solution for connection problems is flushdns now.

Some others were having problems as well - one person could get to TR on tapatalk but not otherwise.

I haven't had a problem today at all.

I'm going to report today's problems, though. I have this suspicion the dns entries get weird when they load level servers

(perhaps this is a good reason to have a dedicated server, though it costs a lot more)
