Atheism might not be a religion, but it is a tribe with tribe like features...and things are not always straightforward. When communism was around lots of atheists sided with the red menace. When your communism went and collapsed you sided with them neo-cons for the most part. I'm not talking specifics, but as a tribe atheists go more or less with the wind, and any wind will do...makes them easy to troll if you are even a little bit of that inclination - sensitive to the a T...and full of projection. Definitions are important...yes, if your the typical anal atheist type....

tough to call. I think the bottom line is that fundamentalists of any religion, be it science, atheism, islam or xianity are all pretty easy to troll.

I'm afraid this thread will not help us determine that. As the OP question is meant to troll scientists and atheists at the same time, the number of replies and butthurt posted might give us a glimpse on the trollability of both those demographics- but it will not establish any relative difference between them in any meaningful way.
And the fact that science-geeks and atheists often overlap (which means they are targets of a two-pronged trolling assault) further complicates matters. When a poster is succesfully trolled and responds, how will we determine what the main trollbait was? The content of their post is not a reliable indicator. A better approach would be to make two separate threads, in which each discipline/theory is compared to a control group. For example, "Which religion - atheism or christianity - is easiest to troll?" and "Which religion - science or christianity - is easiest to troll?" In that case, and for each thread, the posts of the control demographic will easily be filtered by content, leaving us with reliable comparative measures for determining the issue in question. A necessary condition would be that the two threads are posted in different forums or even websites, so as to not raise suspicion and load the results.

So far at ratskep, the answer is, atheism. We'll see how it goes.

naw, just got a couple of the regulars to register their opinion. It seems that the two are tied though.
