One of my Great-Aunts who's since dead had a landlord who was feeling crappy...he was in his 70s so he probably had numerous medical issues...and two 'evangelists' came by and told him he "had a devil in him." So they commenced to beat the hell out of him...Aunt Polly said "They liked to have kilt him!" Violence and crazy ass religious fervor go together like carrots and peas.
