Dave, you have two pet goats you keep in a box.
3
Are the trees and shrubs that form the alleyways fenced off to prevent the animals getting anywhere near them? If not then the goats will eat his trees Dave.
4
Dave, if you want evidence the varves of Lake K are waiting patiently for you.

To me preaching is more of an oration designed to remind people of things they already know and challenge them to take action based upon these things that they already know.

To me, teaching involves things that people don't know where the teacher takes people from ignorance to knowledge in gradual steps.
Many of your thread titles are very preachy. This one for example.
I'm not sure I agree ... maybe ... but is there anything wrong with a preachy thread title?  One that hopefully challenges people to action for some important thing?  I think that saving agriculture is pretty darn important, don't you?
There is when what you actually write in them is totally wrong.  Pahu is exactly the same with his stupid "Science Dsiproves Evolution" bullshit thread too. At least he has the honesty to admit that he's going to run away when challenged on something. You just bluff, bluster, put on the bravado, and then scarper.

You guys just can't get your heads around it can you?
Nope. And I never hope to. Dave, would you "Woo hoo" if your teenage daughter married someone 60 years her senior?
7
Dave, I beseech you in the bowels of Christ, think it possible that you may be mistaken.

"But, as to child marriage, his argument was that one bride (15 years old) was claimed to be happy about it by a South African white woman that didn't speak their language.  And another (12 years old) was claimed to be getting a great deal because she married a rich guy and could get fucked by all the other adults that she desired."

Good case study in the art of spin.

AKA lying.

But as always you can't specify the lie, only accuse someone of lying.

That was a summary Dave, where was the lie?

ETA: Or is it in fact yourself that is lying as usual.

First lie: "child marriage" - you are giving readers the impression that we were discussing "child marriage."  But I was not discussing child marriage.  I was discussing longevity of indigenous people groups.  In my search for long lived indigenous people, I ran across that article so I posted it with the "woo hoo" comment which echoed the sentiment of the on site white woman living in the village.  That was just a passing comment intended to communicate "wow, that 70 year old guy is plenty healthy enough to attract a hot young bride!"

And people immediately pointed out that that's not how child marriages work Dave. They were immediately horrified by your use of the "Woo hoo!" If you had said pretty much anything else Or just nothing at all, and simply quoted the facts- this man was 70, and married a 15 year old, people would not have called you out on it. The discussion might have veered off into the ethics of it, but most likely the immediate reaction would have been to point out that you don't understand the difference between some, all, and none, and that the person you quoted seemed pretty oblivious to an awful lot of things that actual Maasai women report happening.

In fact the initial reaction was precisely that. Its only after you doubled down on trying to defend it by comparing a report of a 74 year old man marrying a 15 year old woman to the physiological reaction upo seeing boobs that you got it with both barrels.

Quote
Second lie:  Misrepresenting the article I posted which included an admission that yes, sometimes brides are as young as 12.  The purpose of that article was to respond to those who were basically saying ... in effect ...  "Poor 15 old bride ... she's stuck having sex with an old geezer who probably can't even get it up."  People would not understand that from what you wrote.
Nobody was thinking about the 15 year old bride being disappointed that her 74 year old husband was impotent Dave. They were thinking about the fact that she was likely forced into an arranged marriage (likely making the best of a bad situation), had probably been a victim of FGM, and so on. Citing an article that notes that this happens to 12 year olds, who can then get passed around "boyfriends" wasn't going to go down well Dave.

A commitment to truth - 100% truth - requires the hard work of actually trying to understand what people are saying and not misrepresenting them.
What if what you are saying is horrible and you just don't realise, because you're not very bright? Or worse, an actually horrible person who doesn't think there's anything wrong with it. What then?

Dear oh dear Valor. At least pick the right Dredd film.

I'd note that there are several places where performing Nazi salutes are going to get an immediate violent response. Plus you can pretty much guarantee that most Neo-Nazis are going to be looking for such a reaction much of the time.

My favorite use for goats is, actually, barbecue
I'd have gone for a West Indian Curry myself.

Dave, did you notice how many times Mark said "browse"? Did you notice how he talked about trees and shrubs, and didn't once mention grass?

Dave, there is nothing "peaceful" about Nazi ideology. If they thought they could get away with it they'd be murdering people. In the Jim Crow era, and the 1920s and 30s, and at the time of the civil rights movement, they thought they could. And we saw what happened. People who stood up for their rights were intimidated, beaten, tarred and feathered, people were fucking lynched Dave. I presume you've heard the song "Strange Fruit"? You do know what its about don't you?

I know your Constitution enshrines the right to freedom of speech. But it doesn't enshrine any right to consequence-free freedom of speech. And one of the consequences of shouting "Jews will not replace us" and "Blood and Soil" in a public place, is having your fucking Nazi shins kicked in.

I'd also note that for people who lived through the Holocaust, and the atrocities committed by the Klan and other sundry white nationalists chants of "Blood and Soil", and "You will not replace us", and the like are very far from fucking peaceful, quoting approvingly as they do, the people who organised and carried out the systematic murder of over 6 million people.
and the people who opposed them that included Communists are okay in spite of the fact that they systematically killed far more in Mao's China and Stalin's Russia. Gotcha
Dave most Communists these days don't espouse the systematic killing of anybody. Neo-Nazis still do. There's a difference between people who espouse the common ownership of the means of production, and people who support totalitarian regimes that also espouse the common ownership of the means of production. There is not a difference between two groups of people who march in the streets chanting "Blood and Soil" and carrying the same flags 70 years apart.

It's not "Davehastobewrongism" its "ifallyouhaveispasturewhydidn'tyoustartwithfuckingsheepism".

Well, the answer to that is that originally, or at any rate at some point, Dave was all over "agroforestry" and "Mark Shepardizing" his 10 acres.  Then he figured out, I guess, that towing a "flerd" round a piece of woodland wasn't exactly a goer.
Actually Mark Shepard does what I do now - rotate grazers through alleys flanked by woodland.  My "let's try dragging them through the woods idea" came from a professor at Lincoln University in Jeff City Missouri called Dr Charlotte who won a $400,000 grant for studying goats in the woods. I tried it for a little while and it could be made to work, but I ended up liking Mark's idea better from several angles.
Apart from the bit where you didn't use grazers.

Dave, goats aren't grazers, and your pasture is not an "alley flanked by woodland". its a fucking field. Mark Shephard doesn't give his goats (does he even have goats? Or is he using sheep, you know, an actual grazer?) "a nice view of the woods". They're in the woods. And if he is using goats, does he put them in a tractor? Or does he fence off sections and allow them to roam freely, where they can browse on the understorey shrubs, saplings, etc?

I've got news for you people... Real news, as opposed to fake news. Having them graze tall grass with seed heads and giving them browse (tree hay) as a supplement is a hell of a lot closer to Nature than having them graze the typical short, overgrazed pastures in my area and supplementing with massive amounts of grass hay and grain. Do you guys really believe that the typical goat owner in America truly allows goats to browse as they would in nature? If you do, I have a bridge I would like to sell you.

Can't you at least try to be consistent? First you make them "graze tall grass with seed heads" = grain, then, in the same sentence, you sound like grain = bad. In the next sentence, you agree that goats browse in nature, which you deny them in your tractor.
Consistency has never been Dave's strong point. Other than being consistently inconsistent.

"Mimicking nature" says the guy making browsers graze,

:happydance:I haven't read it. And I have a.better idea of what's in it than Hawkins.
22
Dave, as everyone has said, it was a "Unite The Right" rally. Not a "please don't move our nice statues" rally. Was it? Was. It. Dave.?

Hey Dave. Since you didn't watch the videoes from Crash Course, here's another couple for you to ignore.

Dave, did you read, or just Hawkins Trump's statement? Look again, particularly at the sentence immediately after the part you bolded. He explicitly says you had neo-nazis and white nationalists in that group, along with "many other people". What is that supposed to mean other than these supposed "very fine people" were marching with the fucking Nazis?
25
Because there were Nazis on the same fucking march you moronic fuck. They might have been at the back, or the front, or in the middle, and all the "very fine people" somehow didn't notice them or managed to avoid standing next to them, but they were fucking there. As all the news reports say. There were a bunch of them with Tiki Torches and change of "Blood and Soil" the night before. Do you think they all went home and didn't go on the march the next day? Because that's just bollocks. Everyone knows they were there. David fucking Duke was there and says he was there and was disappointed in Trump' "clarification". If you were there that day, marching in support of that cause you were marching with Neo-Nazis, and fascists, and White Supremacists.

You seem to be protesting a lot about this Dave. Why? Were you there? Would you have liked to have gone, but couldn't make it?
