Lol.  Companies using their tax breaks for massive stock buybacks then moving production overseas?  No one could have seen this coming!  #MakeThailandGreatAgain

tbf, I get the impression that many if not most Trumpublicans use the term, 'liberal', to describe anyone left of themselves,  anyone who thinks Obama was a better president than Trump, pretty much all Democrats and pretty much all the mainstream news media.
Yeah, in the US it has become a pejorative used by Alex Jones, Rush Limbaugh, and MAGAbots to label anyone who doesn't like Trump.
Predates Trump.   The first time someone called me a "Liberal" in that way was in 2011.

President Trump has personally pushed U.S. Postmaster General Megan Brennan to double the rate the Postal Service charges Amazon.com and other firms to ship packages, according to three people familiar with their conversations, a dramatic move that probably would cost these companies billions of dollars.

Watch Rudy Giuliani Melt Down When He's Shown a Rebuttal By...Rudy Giuliani

Giuliani joined CNN's Chris Cuomo Friday morning to suggest there was no way a sitting president could be compelled to testify. He then promptly melted down when Cuomo played back a clip of Giuliani saying the opposite when the president in question was Bill Clinton:
<Said Video>
"That's really unfair!" Giuliani said. "That's extremely unfair what you're doing right now! This is the reason people don't come on this show!" In a novel and fairly effective strategy, Giuliani tried to just talk over the clip showcasing his obvious hypocrisy. We can probably expect this to become the norm among presidential defenders. For reference, when asked in the clip what would happen if the president is subpoenaed to testify, Giuliani answered, "You gotta do it."

LOL. Wow. Just noticed the same thing in the cart thread. Heinz really can't remember what's being discussed for very long.
A very Trumpian trait.

I did not read the original article, but based on the news piece it seems possible that the term "memory" is being used rather uncritically.  If the snail's reaction is mediated by some metabolic process that involves RNA, then adding some of that RNA to another snail might cause it to react in a similar fashion.  Whether this would be "memory" is a semantic question, but one should not conflate it with other sorts of "memory".

Peez
Yeah, all it would take is the original stimulus to create a transcriptional response, then transferring the RNA to another animal would allow a quicker rapid response to the same stimulus...   Calling it "memory" is salesmanship.

I don't know the history of the modern state of Israel very well but couldn't the Palestinians petition the United Nations or something to have a recognized homeland just as Israel has done?

N Korea cancels talks with South Korea and warns US

North Korea has cancelled Wednesday's high-level talks with South Korea because of anger over its joint military exercises with the US.

The North's official KCNA news agency said the exercises were a "provocation" and a rehearsal for an invasion.

It also warned the US over the fate of the historic summit between Kim Jong-un and US President Donald Trump that is scheduled for 12 June.

World class deal maker.  After getting freaked out by China's retaliation against his tariffs, Trump forgives a company that was under sanctions for trading with Iran and North Korea (and that has deep ties to the Chinese Government).

Also this:  https://www.nationalreview.com/news/china-contributing-500-million-trump-linked-project-indonesia/

The Chinese government is extending a $500 million loan to a state-owned construction company to build an Indonesian theme park that will feature a Trump-branded golf course and hotels.

the $500 million loan will not be directly allocated to any of the Trump-branded features

"Even if this deal is completely and entirely above board, it simply furthers the perception of impropriety"

No matter what happens, to some people there will always be the perception of impropriety
what else is new?
Replace "Trump" with 'Clinton" in that article. (Assume the parts that don't make sense that way, do). Read it again. Tell us about your perception of it.
Well, that's different because we *know* that Killary Clinton is a criminal.

So Bill Clinton and Loretta Lynch were just old pals having a friendly chat on an airplane.   Got it.

And this ...

You think that this reflects reality in some way?  Remarkable.

I would also like to add that Cohen's company Essential Consulting was incorporated in 2016 a month before the election, has no employees, website, or physical office space.  https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2018/05/michael-cohen-essential-consultants-corporate-explanations-fail-laugh-test.html   As a "lawyer" he had three clients: Trump, Sean Hannity and Elliott Broidy.   Now why would several companies, including one owned by a Russian Oligarch, give Cohen millions of dollars for "consulting"?    :hmm:

Lets see if Dave or Heinz can address this without referring to Hillary Clinton.

Novartis discloses it paid $1.2M to Michael Cohen firm

Dave, more reality (aka Fake News!!!11!) to ignore:

Russian Leverage Over Trump Is Not Just a Theory. It's Now Fact.

Quote
For all the speculation about the existence of the pee tape, the latest revelations prove what is tantamount to the same thing. Russia could leverage the president and his fixer -- who, recall, hand-delivered a pro-Russian "peace plan" with Ukraine to Trump's national-security adviser in January 2017 -- by threatening to expose secrets they were desperate to keep hidden. Whether those secrets were limited to legally questionable payments, or included knowledge of sexual affairs, is a question of degree but not of kind.

And, lol,

Trump Admits He Calls All Negative News 'Fake'
Reminded me of this:  https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/erik-wemple/wp/2018/01/16/study-42-percent-of-republicans-believe-accurate-but-negative-stories-qualify-as-fake-news/?noredirect=on&utm_term=.f38b5b7bd21d

So how about that lying to Trudeau and bragging about it later, Dave? Honest or nah?
To be fair, that wasn't really "lying" as he didn't know the right answer to the question of "does the US have a trade deficit with Canada?"   (While in a meeting with the Canadian Prime Minister...  during negotiations affecting the future of NAFTA...)  He doesn't really care about details like this, and had to make something up on the spot.    "Bullshitting" would be a more apt description, but its still disturbing...

Voxrat does have a point when he observes that I no longer think of trump as the better of two evils. I did think that when I was voting but now I actually think he's one of the most honest politicians we've ever had.

Let that sink in.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

You will have your chance to vote him out of office. Until then, please stop your whining and bellyaching, it is undignified.
More failure to understand what America is all about.
No, it is not the American tradition to maintain a "dignified" silence in light of abuses of office. Or even in light of just policies we disagree with.
...
Because there is nothing more fundamentally American than standing idly by while your rulers do things you disagree with.

I know and appreciate what the USA is all about better than most native-born citizens...
Special sub-type of Dunning-Kruger?

Heinz is just trolling now.
Poe's Law in the hizzouse.
23
Hey Heinz,

Your "acquired the bleachbits" comment suggests you don't know a lot about IT.   Do you think that physically destroying a government Blackberry would permanently destroy all the messages and emails that were sent from it?   Or is there some sort of central computer that serves as a distribution point to the phones?   If anything, breaking these phones with a hammer wasn't destructive enough.

I'll meet you halfway though, I think Clinton using a private email server was a really dumb thing to do, but like you she's not exactly tech-savy.  But, if you're mad about that, you should be furious over the hypocrisy of the Trump team using private email and phones.

But then anything that Clinton does is part of a web of nefarious activities, right?

Edit: accidentally a word

Man, you don't know much about Steve Jobs or Mr. Rogers.
or Trump.

"hatred" isn't quite the right word. It's more like revulsion. And there's nothing "irrational" about it.
The guy lies continuously, is nauseatingly vain and braggadocious, boasts about sexual assault, chisels and cheats people foolish enough to deal with him, is misogynist, racist, presides over the most corrupt administration in modern history...

We've got Steve Jobs running the country but Voxrat wants Mr. Rogers.
lol.   Because the name "Steve Jobs" really is synonymous with raw-dogging pornstars behind your wife's back.
