I'm situated on what was once a wild Oak Savannah densely populated with animals of every size

Delurking here to ask a question: Where has it been established that the North American Great Plains were once an Oak Savannah? I thought the area was outside the natural range of that species. Was I misinformed?

Just don't get them excited by tapping your toes in the stall next to them.
Does that toe-tapping trick work for you? Hey, whatever floats your boat.

It's the origin of the "I've got a bridge to sell you" meme.

Um, no.

Creationism has been falsified because it is scientific.

Testy, I think you are making an error here by equating "creationism" with US-style Young Earth Creationism, which is based on a literal interpretation of Genesis. I agree, that proposition is falsifiable and has been proven false. But "creationism" in general includes other forms, many of them variations on Last Thursdayism, which argue that an all-powerful supernatural being poofed the universe into existence exactly as it looks today, and left no evidence of having done so. Those variants of creationism are not falsifiable.

I point this out because as we all know, Dave likes to pounce on any disagreement among the reality-based crowd and then crow that "even the experts don't agree", blah blah.

How Canadian of you. ;)

Arts and Entertainment / Tragically Hip
Anyone else watch the live broadcast of the Hip's final concert on Saturday? I know there are at least a couple other Canadians here.

For me, it was one of the best I've seen on TV. The band kicked ass, and Gord Downie looked pretty lively for a dying man. I admit I choked up a couple of times towards the end.

Decent review here.

No dress rehearsal, this is our life.
