Dave, go read the Wikipedia entry for Zero Hedge news, then come back and explain why you like Russian propaganda so much.
I'm willing to bet that Dave had never heard Kessler's name before and just reposted the first conspiracy theory he could find on Google.

Kessler himself has placed his "red-pilling" around December of 2013 when a PR executive was publicly excoriated for a tasteless Twitter joke about AIDS in Africa.

Regarding the incident, Kessler stated "... so it was just a little race joke, nothing that big of a deal, she didn't have that many followers, she probably didn't think anybody was gonna see it,"

Regardless of Kessler's past politics, the rightward shift in his views was first put on display in November, 2016 when his tirade against Wes Bellamy began.

So what was this then, a Honey Pot to get pictures of White Nationalists acting badly?  Wasn't Trump a Democrat until a couple of years ago? And a Hillary Clinton supporter?

But when the media continually, misleadingly refers to it as a "white nationalist" event, and repeatedly shows the one or two pictures of the handful of racists that showed up, it's no wonder people are believing it.

The organizer himself  (Jason Kassler) described it as a White Nationalist Rally.  You really need to pull your head out of your ass.
Oh? And what do you know about this Jason Kassler [sic] character?
::) I know what I've read about him.  What do your sources say?

If I was thinking really really really kindly, I would think maybe Dave is ordinarily completely oblivious to the world outside his personal life, and therefore, except for the odd buzzword (MAGA! Libs!) penetrating his brain, osmotically as it were, he does not have clue 1 about what goes on outside his bubble. So he's faking it entirely from scratch in this thread.
He's watched enough Fox news and Breitbart to form an opinion.  Truth detected.  No further work neccesary.

I'm kind of surprised that Dave, with his superhuman Googling skills, seems to be unaware that the counter-protesters had two permits for parks in within a couple of blocks of Emancipation park, where the "Unite the Right" rally was going to take place.   What about their Freedom of Speech?  Or is that different?

Wow.  Dave really is everything that's wrong with this country, isn't he...

Has he claimed that the Nazis were actually Socialists yet?

Science / Re: Piggies really are quasi-primates
What happened to you Joe?  You used to be cool... :(  I haven't had a good Nemesis in years...  Now I just go in and work my nine to five in a well funded Ivy League lab and remember the good old days...

Yeah, they might not have known it was treason...

That didn't happen.
And if it did, it wasn't that bad.
And if it was, that's not a big deal.
And if it is, that's not my fault.
And if it was, I didn't mean it.
And if I did...
You deserved it.

This is the thread from old TR if anyone wants a walk down memory lane:

We  identified  and  characterized  a  free  PRE-1  element  inserted  into  the  promoter  region  of  the
porcine  IGFBP7 gene  whose  integration  mechanisms  into  the  genome,  including  copy  number,
distribution  preferences,  capacity  to  exonize  and  phyloclustering  pattern  are  similar  to  that  of  the
primate  Alu  element.  98%  of  these  PRE-1  elements  also  contain  two  conserved  internal  AluI
restriction enzyme recognition sites, and the RNA structure of PRE1 can be folded into a two arms
model like the Alu RNA structure. It is more surprising that the length of the PRE-1 fragments is
nearly  the  same  in  20  chromosomes  and  positively  correlated  to  its  fracture  site  frequency.  All  of
these  fracture  sites  are  close  to  the  mutation  hot  spots  of  PRE-1  families,  and  most  of  these
hot  spots  are  located  in  the  non-complementary  fragile  regions  of  the  PRE-1  RNA  structure.
Sequence  homology  analysis  showed  that  the  PRE-1  element  seemed  to  share  a  common
ancestor  7SL  RNA  with  primates  but  was  generated  by  different  evolutionary  model,  which
suggests that the suidae may be the closest relatives to primates in laurasiatheria.
::)
Last two words are important.    Still a long way from laurasiatheria to primates.

An alternate hypothesis is that 7SL RNA evolved earlier than was previously thought and can be found outside of primates by structural conservation, rather than sequence conservation.   Would need to examine the genomes of more organisms in the tree to determine whether these evolved 7SL RNAs exist.  Probably harder than you think as assembling repeat sequences is a huge pain in the ass.

Anyway, its 2017, Joe.  You don't need to propose nonsense like polyphyly as a rationalization for why you find farm animals so goddamned sexy.  Let your freak flag fly!

As a sidenote:
If neognathous birds had an ascending process of the astragalus that would be evidence consistent with a dino to bird theory. But it does not have an ascending process of the astragalus. It has an ascending process of the calcaneum based on the intermedium. This is based on a developmental pathway resembling that of an amphibian and not at all like the pathway in dinosaurs.

The published material disagrees with you. I think it's safe to say we can safely disregard the unsupported ramblings of a B&B owner
Husband of a B&B owner, presumably.

And, yet again, I've been sloppy about reminding Bluffy of his duties.
invisible thread is invisible.

I wonder how long "Socrates" will talk to himself if no one bothers to contradict him.

ETA: Jesus... I kept hitting the "older post" button over and over again for what seemed line an eternity..  I came across entries that had 20 replies and thought "Finally! Doug has gotten into it with someone!"  Nope,  just Doug.  Doug all the way down.  I had to go back to October 30, 2014 to find any comment that was not Doug.

ETA2: the sheer mass of... stuff... on his blog is pretty incredible.

Dave has been awfully quiet lately about his boy Trump.  Could he finally be seeing through the bullshit?

Facebook post I made just now ...
Quote
INDEPENDENCE DAY is coming soon. And it causes me to have deep thoughts every year. The main thing I'm thinking about is that I have come to believe that we are not truly free here in America. Yes, we are more free than they are in a place like N. Korea. But how free are we compared to say the Native Americans who lived in the Haudenosaunee Confederacy during the time of Benjamin Franklin? If you read Ben Franklin, you'll say "not very free at all." And if you read Charles Mann (who quoted Ben Franklin for me on this topic) you'll realize that the freedoms that we DO have came in large part from these Native Americans and their confederacy - which we then destroyed. ("Thanks! Now here's a bullet to your head!"). So the next logical question I have is this ... "if we here in America are not as free as the Native Americans of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy of yore, then what are we doing wrong? And how can we fix it?" Well I don't know exactly, but I'm willing to think outside the box to try to figure it out. One of the most glaring lacks of freedom I see in our world today is lack of access to good land combined with lack of knowledge of what to do with good land once you get access to it. Most people don't think about the fact that without good LAND, we would all starve and all these discussions we have about all these other things - science, politics, the arts, etc - would be moot. Most people also don't think about the fact that without KNOWLEDGE of what to do with good land, we also would starve. So these two major items have become the focus of my life for my remaining years here on this planet ... (1) How to provide Universal Land Access (much better than Universal Basic Income) to all people, and (2) How to Apply Knowledge to the use of that land so as to derive sustenance from it while at the same time leaving it in better shape than we found it for our children and grandchildren. THAT ... to me ... will move us toward TRUE INDEPENDENCE.

So you think its insightful enough to be copypasta-ed all over the internet?   Interesting.

Anyway, the only copy I can find indexed on Google is City-Data, so as far as I know it is the only other time you've posted it.   Do you find that people tend to just completely ignore you on other forums?   Is that why you keep coming back here?

20
Did it hurt that you were completely ignored the first time you posted this back in March?
21
The question is simple.

What could show the CO2 theory is wrong?

If increasing ice and cold occur, while CO2 levels increase, and you say that will not mean anything, then it's not a theory at all.

wtf?
Next F_X is going to try to convince us that Climate Science isn't real Science because we aren't comparing our planet to a control Earth where CO2 has remained constant.

I'm pretty sure this is the Yann from the play. I'd love to hear his side of the story.

Oh geeze.  Attended a conference in Peterbourgh Oct. 25-28th, 2006.  "Play" published three weeks later...

The Soap Opera / Re: Socrates
Can we confine him to a single thread like at the old TR?

Was it a single thread? Not that my memory is the greatest but I thought he was restricted to the single (alternative reality) subforum.

Tangentially, Dave's a little too comfortable thinking that sub is his very own safe space. Not that I mind his political nonsense posted there, and he's behaved lately, because at least he's not shitting up other subs with indefensible (lol) nonsense. edit: Meaning that maybe Dave needs a roomie.
Dave and Socrates in one thread?   Is that your proposal?  Because I support that wholeheartedly!

How are the baby goats doing inside the robopen, dave?
Wow...  there are a disturbing number of pictures of dead goats on Google...

This is pretty awesome though...   http://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/safari-planet/2872707?snl=1

Baby goats!

Two so far ... expecting two more any day ...

TBF That's actually a pretty good looking goat.
Congrats!  :)
TBF  Bluffy presumably had nothing to do with that.
Well, I've always though Dave's pupils were a little horizontal...
