Trouble connecting to TalkRational
I really don't know what the problem is, but ever since TR moved to the new server, I can't connect from my browser at work. It isn't blacklisted, I just get an error that says "Network Error (tcp_error).

Anyone know if there is something I can do to fix this?  If I'm reduced posting from my phone, it's just not gonna happen :(   I don't have an actual computer at home, and I'm almost never online on the weekends - that's family time. But I miss this place.

That's not a bug, it's a feature.

I've been having the same issue, used to be able to see TR at work but now it does not connect.  I will try tracert later to see where the connection breaks, but from that link I cannot see what the actual solution was???  I won't have any control over the network configuration at work.

I checked that out.
PING returned no results - TR isn't responding
TRACERT returned 3 things then timed out for the remaining 27

The three that returned are
1. <1ms <1ms <1ms
2. <1ms <1ms <1ms
3. 3ms 2ms 2ms

There are up addresses on the first 3 lines but I don't know if they're mine or use so I'm not posting them. ;)
Maybe try this?

Sorry this post is messy. It seems to play poorly on my phone.

I was wondering if your company is blocking the site because the server is not in the US, or if it's failing for some other reason.

I'll can take data about the problem to our webhost, but right now, I don't know enough about the problem to even ask them about possible solutions.

It appears my employer is blocking the site or a larger cluster of IP addresses.  Tracert for TR stops at what I think is our intranet boundary and a few other US-based sites I tried do work.  Also I can access web sites in Europe but perhaps only from "approved" regions.

I suspect it s because isn't  a us server.  It could be something else but I wouldn't be surprised if t were the server location. That would be sad for me, although it seems ksen would be happy about it.

Add:  I know it was a joke, I'm just not very good at witty rejoinders. My post was also meant humorously. ;)

Once I figure out exactly what I want to ask, I'm going to open a ticket about this.

I think what I want is an IP address of an alternative server we could move to in the US, and see if you guys are able to ping it from work.

Assuming you can perform a tracert command from your work network.
