Need to see a Venn Diagram of Deadly Serious Action Movies and Superhero Movies (specifically superheros who gained powers through magic, so not Batman).

superhero movies have sorta earned it by this point and honestly the better ones don't take themselves very seriously (eta: ironically, batman's the only one i can think of that takes itself seriously and didn't turn out to suck, by comparison marvel cinematic universe keeps it fun)

i'm just not ready for goofy shit like power rangers to have this slow somber R&B cover of "walk the line" with an overall super brooding tone like we're about to storm the beaches of normandy or some shit
