Would you kindly clean up his mess in science?

Ugh, how many threads did he really spam up?  Most of the ones I looked at it was just a single empty quote so I didn't bother, but if he went back and did more damage later yeah, they should probably be cleaned up.

Bili, it's one quote post and all those threads have dropped back. It would be a pain tracking them down. I don't see the harm in leaving them?

Oh I see what he's done: loads of pointless thread bumps.

I think all the thread bumps are from the same time, before F X decided to take a break.

Oh ok. No worries then.

^^ I hope FX learned his lesson here.
There is more concern for cleaning up the threads than to what was troubling FX to cause his bumping conniption. What a community. Community apathy.
TTP, are you REALLY white knighting FX here?
Say it isn't so.

The only ones I white knight are soft & furry small helpless animals.

I was just amused with FX's pain/sadness/anger over his perceived mismatch between his ideal image of how the world should be... with how it really is.

And how FX's personal distress was summarily brushed aside by TR's forum weariness & apathy.

TR being a sort of place where Weltschmerez and ennui collide.

Reminding us all, the internet can be a soul-rotting place to spend our time....

except perhaps to play online poker.

Porn, don't forget porn.

For the rest of your commentary I blame the Trump vs. Hillary/Obama show.  An ongoing train-wreck with no end in sight and a plethora of side attractions opening and closing at blinding speed to try and distract you from the ongoing disaster taking place.  It tends to trivialize all other items no matter their personal or public worth.

So again, tell me why we have umpteen bazillion threads for FX to rage about global warming?

I thought we didn't. Can always merge any duplicates if they're causing problems. If you're referring specifically to threads started by FX.

I'm only seeing two FX threads on the first two pages of Science results. That doesn't seem excessive and evidently some people want to argue/discuss with him.

So, Bart, are you still on that diet? I am starting an elimination diet today called whole 30. I am happy that I might lose a few pounds but the bigger issue for me is hopefully figuring out if I have some food sensitivity that contributes to my digestive health issues. Still and all, I have never done a diet like this and I do not know if I have the necessary willpower. Can you offer any advice on sticking to it?

idk who bart is, though in my experience with dieting it becomes habitual after about a month, then it's easy.

the key is to make sure it's a fairly healthy diet plan, if you are not careful you could hurt yourself and lose a lot of progress.

Well, I think it's healthy. It's this one:
https://whole30.com/
basically it has a lot of salad and meat but the key for me is that it has no grains at all, no legumes, no dairy, and no processes sugars. The idea according to my doctor is that after 30 days or so, I reintroduce the missing ingredients one at a time over the course of a week and see if one of them may play a part in my shitty health problems.

You are saying it takes about a month to get used to it?

probably not that long, honestly - it's certainly a willpower issue at first.

All day long I've been craving a glass of milk. I am thinking about breaking down and trying almond milk again. I didn't like it last time I tried it but there were dairy alternatives available then.

I should probably start a dieting thread.

I never liked plain milk but I like all the alternatives - almond milk, cashew milk, soy milk, coconut milk, I love them all. They all taste a bit different so if almond milk isn't up your alley one of the others might be preferable for you. There's other varieties too than the ones I listed.

My partner became lactose intolerant last year and I have grown pretty fond of almond milk (vanilla, unsweetened) on my oat meal.

Also Almond Dream chocolate ice "cream" is really rich and creamy to the point that one doesn't miss it not being milk based.

I can't have sugar, grain, or legumes. So no rice or soy milk and no ice cream. I bought some almond unsweetened and coconut milk today and I can learn to live with them. I think I just used to put cream in my coffee because I made shitty coffee maker coffee. I did a French press with fresh ground beans this morning and it was delicious black so I guess I am good there.

There won't be any cereal for a long time unless I choose to reintroduce grain first which I don't think I will because milk.

Milk is for infants. Adults don't need milk. Drink water.

This is basically a paleo diet.  30 days of strict paleo; no cheats, no paleofied treats, no alcohol (looks like marijuana & RX drugs are acceptable).
Any yes, it can be useful to identify food allergies, inflammatory foods & foods that may generally make you feel sluggish. (Not to be confused with the drugs that might make you feel a bit off or sluggish, of course.)

I should probably start a dieting thread.

It looks like whole30.com has their own forum full of hypochondriacs you can talk to.

Yeah. Well, I'm pretty motivated to not cheat. But no, I am not interested in that forum. Although hypochondria is a cause that hadn't occurred to me. Hmm.

hempseed milk is pretty good from what I recall. I haven't had flax seed milk but that might fit the bill as well?

though these probably won't be in the local grocery store, I think I've only seen them in health food stores.

I know I have seen vegan creamer in the store but I don't recall what it was made with. I take my coffee black so I didn't really pay much attention to it other than to kinda just go, "Oh, neat!"

Day 2 and my body is starting to notice that something funny is going on. Weird cravings even though I'm full.
