I thought this was a pretty good take on the Democratic primary.

One of the arguments brought up is that when Clinton's campaign cleared the field of other potential candidates like a Warren, Biden or Cuomo they also unwittingly cleared the field for Sanders who would have had a much harder time getting his message heard during a more robust primary.

I'm starting to think Democrats are suicidal.

You've always wished that.  You're a pretty remarkably uncharitable human.

Ugh. Really digging to find a way to fit that in there, aren't you?

That is so depressing I might be suicidal soon.

It's nice that you can rationalize your assholishness so you don't have to face the fact that you're a sucky human being.  It's gotta help you feel better about yourself.

I was at some bar in Alabama and ran into this W.A.S.P and he told me he's voting Moore but doesn't have any idea what he stands for other than not being a democrat and fucking kids.

I'm shocked that in a series of news cycles inundated by an insane cartoonishly literally evil character that a random person in a bar doesn't really know all of the boring details about a normal politician's platform. I'm sure the disproportionate coverage of the kidfucking over pretty much everything else had nothing to do with it. If Jones had been pushing Medicare for All, he'd be getting all of the media attention, and people would know what he stands for.

yeah that's not really too relevant for someone in the state in question where the party itself should be making pitches to voters.

eta esp. given the way in which they apparently are reaching out to black voters: https://www.theroot.com/a-racist-flyer-might-cost-doug-jones-the-election-becau-1821065764

That article is pretty weak journalism.

Eta I guess I'd put it on roughly the same level as a tweet from a random guy in a bar.

by the way, i feel pretty confident that if a candidate for senate from alabama came out for medicate for all, it would actually be pretty newsworthy if nothing else.
