So I saw it last night. I had avoided all reviews and news of it and kept myself spoiler-free to get as genuine a first experience as I could.I liked it. Quite a lot, actually. I came out of the theatre thinking that it was all that TFA should have been. (And it wasn't JUST because of its blatant anti-Trumpism. )Spoiler (click to show/hide)Regarding the CGI characters: I hear they creeped out a lot of people, but it was really not that hideous. I think they're making progress to slowly move out of the uncanny valley- It's mostly facial animation and lighting issues.
I thought they just recast one of those?
I mean, basically that convoy battle was the Iraq War from the insurgents' point of view. You can't not see that as a political piece of film.
