It's rather amazing that Fox News never exercised due diligence in a background check of this clown.

Prior to his arrest for the CIA/fraud shenanigans, Simmons had a history of arrests for other infractions ranging from DUIs to weapons possessions and assault charges.
Plus his rather infamous arrest in 2007, where he attacked a cab driver in Annapolis MD.  Telling the arresting police officer, "Fuck you. You can't do shit to me. Do you know who I am?" and then proceeded to insist he was CIA, and that the Pakistani cabbie had a bomb. To which, of course, no such bomb was found in the cab.  Mug shot for that arrest here:

The Urban/Homeless Divide (on the island)

Hawaii has the highest homeless rate per capita in the nation, according to federal statistics.
The Associated Press reports the state has 487 homeless per 100,000 people.  The number has risen since 2010, even as national rates have fallen.  Officials say the increase is due to rising costs in the islands, low wages, and limited land.
The state coordinator on homelessness says the population of unsheltered families ballooned 46 percent from 2014 to 2015. Scott Morishige says changes in public housing policy and mental health services contributed to the rise. story

I was seriously disappointed when I didn't wake up to watersports on national news this morning

Yes, I too was disappointed.

However, when the tape does surface, Trump's theme song is ready....

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein issued the following statement telling Americans to be "skeptical" of news stories that use anonymous sources

Rosenstein: "Americans should exercise caution before accepting as true any stories attributed to anonymous 'officials,' particularly when they do not identify the country -- let alone the branch or agency of government -- with which the alleged sources supposedly are affiliated. Americans should be skeptical about anonymous allegations," said Rosenstein in a late Thursday statement.

"The Department of Justice has a long-established policy to neither confirm nor deny such allegations."

Sounds like British Intelligence MI6 has the compromising Trump pee tapes.

Karma:   Scalise cosponsored H.R.645
a bill to restore Second Amendment rights in the District of Columbia and the National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Act of 2011, H.R.822, which would ensure national reciprocity for concealed carry permit holders. Congressman Scalise's pro-gun stance has earned him an A+ rating from the National Rifle Association. A member of the Congressional Second Amendment Task Force, Congressman Steve Scalise will continue fighting to protect every citizen's Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.

+ this past Feb 2017, the GOP gave mentally ill people the right to own guns.  link
rand paul said he thinks the rifle was an ar-15

so the shooter was a middle-aged white guy with an ar-15.  I'm liking my "rwnj shoots rinos" theory more and more.

Virginia:  open carry (except for "assault weapons")

eta:  regarding the AR-15, Rand Paul would know

Whatsup with the ritual obeisance?
Are you talking about this:
Donald Trump just held the weirdest Cabinet meeting ever
Once Trump finished touting his administration's accomplishments, he turned to several of his newly-minted Cabinet secretaries like Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue. Each of those Cabinet secretaries lavished praise on Trump, which he accepted without comment but with a broad smile.
At first, I thought Trump was just going to have the new members of the Cabinet spend a few minutes praising him. NOPE! It soon became clear that Trump planned to have every Cabinet member speak. And when I say "speak" what I really mean is "praise Trump for his accomplishments, his foresight, his just being awesome."
You think I am exaggerating. I am not. Here's what White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus said about Trump: "We thank you for the opportunity and blessing to serve your agenda."

This is the sort of thing to which I can only stammer...
What. The actual. Fuck? ? ? ?

A recently surfaced recording of Donald Trump's appearance on the Charlie Rose show in 1992 shows that Trump has been obsessed with loyalty and revenge for a very long time. [.....]
The 1992 version of Trump is strikingly similar in tone and personality to the present-day iteration.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

This video resurfaced at an interesting time, as former FBI Director James Comey's testimony under oath about the multiple meetings he had with the president has brought Trump's fixation on loyalty to the forefront.

Comey noted in a contemporaneous memo written after one such meeting that Trump told him, "I need loyalty. I expect loyalty."
