"I am" Is the Beginning of Philosophical Suicide
Don't commit suicide, TR. NEVER AGAIN!

Through early morning fog I see
Visions of the things to be
The pains that are withheld for me
I realise that I can see
That suicide is painless
It brings so many changes
And I can take or leave them if I please
The game of life is hard to play
I'm gonna lose it anyway
The losing card of some delay
So this is all I have to say
That suicide is painless
It brings so many changes
And I can take or leave them if I please
Love is like a magic penny
if you hold it tight you won't have any
if you give it away you'll have so many
they'll be rolling all over the floor

It is interesting that the "I am" in this poem is related to a series of actions. That is not what I mean.

Actually, in the old days the proper verbs were used almost exclusively as to avoid the philosophical suicide of "I am". This could also be described as avoiding festishization of the person.

You could summarize by copying down Alfred Korzybski's book Science and Sanity.

Interesting guy.

How would I have quoted him had I not read him? Do you believe in original thought? That's pretty silly considering the number of inventions which have been "invented" independently by more than one author.

Well, that's what we have here. An old idea commonly summarized as 'the map is not the territory'. But it is a hugely powerful idea so good on you I guess.

I don't think I am really alluding to the mapping element her, per se; I think I am more interested in its effect.

So Alfred Korzybski talked about something akin to philosophical suicide? And I mean, quite literally, elimination of wisdom.
