There will be 3 am tweets if something comes of this.
1) Nobody listens to Jenny Kwan
2) Fewer listen to Michelle Remple
3) This was an interview broadcast on the CBC show The Current this morning, and nothing has come of it
4) The CBC report on their own shows in a way that makes me

Trudeau backs off from electoral reform. Looks like the American elections worry him, but this might come back to bite the left in the ass if O'Leary surges. This could be bad.

I get that they don't have a consensus on what system to use, so a referendum isn't a good idea yet, but that's why you start discussing it now and maybe you say "sorry it won't be ready by 2019, because we'll still be working out the constituencies", but it'll be done for 2024 at least.
Why do I bother?

How about it being labeled a Hate Crime?  Is that a thing in Canada?

I don't think, watching Trump, that Canadians will be in a hurry to elect O'Leary, though obviously you never know.  There are a couple people in the Conservative leadership race that actually look like decent human beings to whom Trudeau could easily lose the next election if things don't go well (in particular the electoral reform renege, or a poor economic trend).

Liberal Party gonna Liberal.

The NDP needs a new and better leader. Mulcair is not a good representative of what most of us want to see from the NDP.

Not yet. The charges could change, given the police are still investigating.

One of the top tweets about this:

It's more like: the faster someone jumps to conclusions without evidence, the more likely they'll be alt-right.
That's called a corollary.  ;)
