I can't see Spielberg quite in these terms.  It's about the suspension of disbelief and delight in the imaginary made real for a brief moment.  Maybe it's all the same thing,

The author sounds as if he read Something Wicked This Way Comes by Bradbury right before and couldn't get it out of his head while reviewing Spielberg.
