Politics and Current Events / Re: Facebook
NextDoor is a major thing in my area. And the threads and comments are enough to make me want to move far, far away from the rest of humanity.

Compassionate conservatism in Louisiana

"This make us look heartless," said Senate Finance Chair Eric LaFleur, D-Ville Platte.

Sen. Bodi White, R-Baton Rouge, said he believes sending the notification to nursing home residents and others in long-term residential care is premature.

"I don't see how in good conscience they can do that to these older folks," White said.

Sen. Sharon Hewitt, R-Slidell, said the Department of Health should be focused on identifying fraud and saving money there "rather than kicking grandma out of the nursing home."

If I understand the details correctly, the senate and assembly can't even talk about taxes during a regular session.

Assuming they get their shit together, they want to close the regular session early and have a special session in May where they talk about raising taxes for Medicaid.

That had to have cleared one hell of a bar with the judge who approved it, to wiretap the personal lawyer of a sitting president.

This article is about the history of police infiltration of leftist groups in the UK, but we see enough in US news to know it happens in the US, too, and has been happening for years.

I'm not really sure where to put this article.  The guy is a POS, but his reach atm is fairly restricted.

Clayton is a former Texas board of education member.  He may or may not be running for that office again this year.  As well as random twitter-drivebys harrassing non-white high school students celebrating their admission to ivy league universities, he's repeatedly gone after David Hogg and the Margery Douglass school survivors as a whole.

He falls into a weird private citizen category right now, which is maybe why his tweets haven't drawn more attention.

He'll take credit

Quinnipiac poll has the Texas senate race between Cruz and Beto at too close to call - 44% each

Lots of time between now and November for things to change.   :ohdear:

Pittsburgh police are to bring their riot gear with them to work starting tomorrow over rumors that Trump is going to fire Mueller this week or something.

Maybe if you'd been a Russian troll this wouldn't have happened.  You're supposed to steal identities, not create obviously fake ones.

Yeah, it's resurfaced.  May or may not be relevant, I guess.

I guess I'll stay away from tv news for a couple days.  Even msnbc usually gets happy and bubbly about missile strikes.

Current Facebook employee with ties to Kogen and Cambridge Analytica is under internal investigation.

Facebook won't say if he had access to the CA data or if he's been told to delete it.
