I'm definitely moving closer to "fuck it, primary Manchin with a full-blown socialist, it's worth the risk" because he keeps getting worse somehow. And at some point, you've gotta weight "but we'll get someone so much worse in WV!" against the constant fights to stop the party from moving even a tiny bit to the left or doing anything at all to stop GOP agendas.

What in the actual fuck.

Yes, Joe, let's keep the people who destroyed bipartisanship in power in the name of bipartisanship. THAT WILL DEFINITELY SOLVE THE PROBLEM.

Democrats flipped a state house seat in a district Trump won by a 5pt margin.

It's like viewing chess played on the complex plane from the plane of the reals.

e.g., if you're watching a complex - valued probability wave whose observable characteristics all have to be real-valued

With ideas like that it's no wonder I've never heard of Twitter poster @johnastoehr.

Too bad it couldn't have stayed that way. :whyyou:

The replies are so encouraging.  Many people really have awakened to the importance of state and local elections.

Regarding the postcards, bujo meets grassroots politics.

well someone has to come up with the galaxy brain insight that we need to craft a nationalist unity narrative about defeating an insidious foreign threat to counter mr. trump's fascism.

Really, Democrats need to prepare to fight the second American Civil War and then rebuild American democracy out of the resulting ashes.
Great plan... except that most of the guns are in the hands of Republicans.
This is a common myth. I'm glad to see you don't disappoint by being dumb enough to believe it.
The problem with infrequent posting is that I end up pages out of date.

Anyway, you're full of crap, WT:

http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2014/07/15/the-demographics-and-politics-of-gun-owning-households/
49% of Republicans, 22% of Democrats

https://www.statista.com/statistics/249775/percentage-of-population-in-the-us-owning-a-gun-by-party-affiliation/
56% of republicans live in a household with guns, as opposed to 25% of democrats

So unless you're assuming that the total number of democrats WAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY outnumbers republicans, then you're pretty much just straight up wrong.

Just because you're unique doesn't mean you're useful.

What a perfectly serendipitous statistic. By killing gun owners, we get two for the price of one.

I'd be pretty skeptical considering that's also how they have west Virginia, Indiana, and Kentucky.

Would be good if every elected Republican Bud Dwyer'd themselves.

Greg Sargent had a good series this morning on how this is happening:

makes me feel like a piece of shit for not doing more

do whatever you can and feel good about that, because i can tell you for a fact that that feeling won't go away no matter how much you do. you could, say, be on the steering committee of a local activist organization and regularly show up for protests and manage the organization of actions and political groups and realize you need to change careers because you care more about doing that than writing a dissertation and willingly spend your free time doing data entry of new members of your org and still feel like you're not doing enough.
