Huh?
Don't you worry your little head over it, dave.

Have you figured out yet that "Peoples_Pundit" lied to you?
That you're rebroadcasting Fake News like the useful idiot that you are?
no. It appears to me that Trump and Fox News have been pretty much right all along.
pretty much right...about what?
Dave?
pretty much right about people on the Obama team using unethical means to try to keep him from getting elected and for trying to remove him from Office once elected.
Have you figured out that you were misinformed about the charges against Manafort and Gates? Have you figured out the source of that misinformation?

Judge berates a woman for trying to give the whole truth (about several things, including medical treatments). The woman ends up dead 3 days later (seemingly from stress induced by the judge's actions). Video included.

I just watched the video, and I'm not seeing what you're seeing, Uncool. To me, it just looks like frat boys are being incredibly racist.
At the end of the dog sketch, the guy with the can is labeled as the leader of the tri-kappa frat, "the main enemies of theta tau"; the tri-kappas are labeled as part of a "white empire". This segues into the racist initiation scene. On the other hand, the line starting that scene is "The first members to come from Theta Tau were none other..."
5
...ok, I watched the video, and I have to say, I'm lost as to what it was they were doing. It started out similar to an "Origin of the Organization"-style story, complete with rivals, but then seemed to degenerate into "hey, let's make a crazy story" thing.

Also, did I completely misunderstand it, or was that "oath" supposed to be for the "rivals"?

Each semester our new members are given the opportunity to write and act out a skit, in order to roast the active brothers. This event was never intended to be centered around racism or hate. This year, one of these brothers is a conservative Republican, and the new members roasted him by playing the part of a racist conservative character. It was a satirical sketch of an uneducated, racist, homophobic, misogynist, sexist, ableist and intolerant person. The young man playing the part of this character nor the young man being roasted do not hold any of the horrible views espoused as a part of that sketch. We would like to believe that the new members seen in the video laughing at the horrible things being said were not laughing in concurrence with these beliefs, but in fact the opposite--that racism, sexism and homophobia are so wrong that they are laughable. None of the satire was said or done in malice.

He needs mainly to look like he might act independently of Trump, so that Republicans can say that any actions he takes were legitimate and not just based on Trump's desires.

By saying he'd consider leaving, he implies that if he doesn't, then it must have been the right thing. If he wanted to make the threat, he could have said that he strongly stands behind Rosenstein.

I think that by now, Sessions knows that this kind of subtle doesn't work on Trump. Trump isn't the audience for this subtlety. Additionally, if it were a direct threat to Trump, he could have made it alone, such that any leak would have been from Trump. These combined make me think the leak was the point. And that the subtlety was for readers, not for Trump.
7
how is this leak convenient for sessions?
It gives him a chance to look tougher than he has been without having to commit to anything.
8
Anyone smart enough to do that would also realize how mealy-mouthed "consider" is.

Not to mention how convenient this "leak" is. I'd be shocked if Sessions didn't ask for it.
9
On the other hand:

Sessions said he would have had to consider leaving as the attorney general had Trump ousted Rosenstein, this person said.

"would have to consider leaving"

Main reason I posted that was in response to the tweet, the headline, and the first few paragraphs of the article. Yeah, the subheadline says that, but I honestly see that as pretty vague - the system being accused of hypocrisy could easily happen even if it were a single school, and a single person making the decisions. The headline ("California university", singular) and first two paragraphs ("the university's tone", again singular, with no mention of a second university) pretty clearly imply that it's not just the same school system, but the same university implying the same administration. It's not until paragraph 6 that the article has any indication that these are even different campuses, let alone administrations that have nothing in common until 2 levels higher than one of the presidents (Fresno is a part of the California State University system, which is a part of the public university system in California).

I do appreciate your answer, as a note.
11
Different universities (California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo for the first, California State University, Fresno for the second). Both part of the same system, but different people responding.

who cares, this shit is systemic
Because blatantly deceptive arguments are worse than no arguments. I do think the difference between a person in charge of a system being racist and a system itself being racist matters, and the tweet obfuscates that difference.

When you say "this shit", what are you referring to? More tolerance for racists acting racist than for leftists expressing their views?
12
Huh. Hadn't heard of this one, a year ago, also at Fresno:

Professor (apparently without tenure?) not rehired after tweeting "Trump must hang"

Yes, the latter is clearly wrong.

I wonder when we'll first get reports of the death camps
You mean like the ones Arpiao used to run here in AZ? (And still got re-elected 3-4 times.)
Your post sounds like Arpaio elections are in the past.

Politics and Current Events / Re: Trumpocalypse
seems like money well spent in an election year for a US political party to sue the actual goddamn government of russia, lmbo
It would be kinda hilarious if the Russian government chose to show up in court.

But yeah - it's a waste of money. I guess they expect they'll fundraise more off it than they'll have to pay the lawyers.

The complaint, filed in federal district court in Manhattan, alleges that top Trump campaign officials conspired with the Russian government and its military spy agency to hurt Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and help Trump by hacking the computer networks of the Democratic Party and disseminating stolen material found there.

Unfortunately, the Post fails to link to the lawsuit (the supposed link goes back to the article itself).

So Dave, I'm curious: is this livestock drive a serious desire, or complete "wouldn't this be cool" fantasy?
21
I'll also point out: I don't think you fall into the "cult leader" archetype.

But I think RickB's observations most closely match that archetype.
22
Certainly!

I should point out: you did ask for my opinion.
24
As I said: the two archetypes can be combined, but there is are differences between the two. And in each way there is a difference, your observations match the latter.
25
I'm honestly still kinda hoping to get an answer to my question on the next page; the whole thing looked like it was a deliberate (if drunken) production but lacked even the coherence you'd usually find at a frat. So wtf was it? And did I hear right, that the "oath" was ascribed to the "rivals", not the group itself?
