I love how pissy people get when you raise a logical conclusion about their ideas that they haven't thought of.

That's called a reductio, It only works, though, if something is, in fact, a logical inevitability from some set of premises. As it is, the theory of evolution doesn't hold that anything is possible, but rather that traits which best facilitate an organism reproducing, will be selected for in a population, at a greater rate than other traits.

I refuse to believe it. What would be his platform? His firm commitment to fucking everyone, irrespective of party?

"[T]he other thing with the terrorists -- you have to take out their families. When you get these terrorists, you have to take out their families! They care about their lives, don't kid yourselves. They say they don't care about their lives. But you have to take out their families." -Donald J. Trump, 45th President of the United States

First off, how dare you.

The only thing I trust is YouTube videos. Scientists can't hide their sneaky agendas when rendered in glorious 720p.

Why on earth would a stream be MUDDY - CLEAR - MUDDY like that?

That's Morse code for "R". Hope this helps.

One day the silent lurker majority will swoop in to affirm whatever the fuck Socrates is on about. Hopefully they can help clarify it.

lmao

This natural affinity for dictators is one of the most worrisome things about Trump. If we can wrestle peace w/ N. Korea out of it, and maybe open some McDonalds there, then great, but God save us if the rule of law breaks down.

I want to imagine we're all on ignore, and you just sigh and hit "show this post" every time.

How long have you been a protectionist, Dave?
Ever since I learned that ...

"Tariffs were the main source of revenue for the federal government from 1789 to 1914."

Source - tariff History of the United States Wikipedia

I think I first stumbled upon this article 5 years ago or so.

So are you motivated by an opposition to income taxes? If so, why do you think tariffs are better than a national sales tax, and if you just disagree with a progressive income tax, then why not a flat tax? To be clear, I support a progressive income tax, and free trade, but I just want to see where you fit in with other conservatives I've talked to.
I hate income taxes.  But my motivation to support tariffs is more about independence as a country.  I don't want us to depend on foreign trade.  I want domestic industry to be strong.  I'm so radical about tariffs that I would like to see them implemented at every level.  So that my home state of Missouri can truly be independent ... and my home county can be too.  My dream is to live in a fully independent countyf which doesn't need any outside input.  I'd like to see subdivisions within each county have a high degree of self sufficiency too.

I guess that does fit your odd anarcho-agrarian MO.

The idea I think Quiz is proposing is that the harm done by discrimination happens because the person is excluded from the good or service. If someone else offers the same thing (or maybe similar enough), accordingly, then no harm is done.

That's not true, though. If a black family walks into a grocery store, on an imaginary road with a dozen perfectly identical grocery stores, and gets told they can't shop there because they're black. That still does obvious harm.

So according to that you should leave rainforests the fuck alone.
Yeah sure. And if I leave them alone, then the Wai Wai people will continue their super low density food production model and one of these days ConAgra will come along and justify cutting down all of the trees to plant corn and soybeans in the name of feeding the world under a high density model.  Is that what you want?

The rainforest may be cut down, so we must cut down the rainforest.

Science / Re: Direct Down Wind Faster Than The Wind
...
You crackpots had a chance to show something with the balloons. If the cart could do 2 x wind speed, the balloon test would have been a cinch. That was a total failure and now all you have is excuses....
That's what I suspected some time ago when you called the balloon test "a failure" and I responded that it was not a failure, but instead it didn't happen.

It's not correct that a balloon was released and the BB failed to catch up to it.  I clearly explained that we had some technical difficulties with the process and that my friend driving failed to hit the brakes after we released balloons, to get me back into video position before the balloons veered away.  The cart had already passed the balloons before I could resume the video.

Then, when I figured out what to do better, my buddy became worried about safety and would not help again.  In hindsight I should have let him stand aside and followed the BB upwind to try again, driving, releasing the balloon in a better area, and videoing it myself.

I tried to pull this off for all here including you but it didn't work out.  There was no failure documented regarding BB catching balloons, and no success documented either.  Anyone present could see a number of wind streamers and that the BB was clearly exceeding wind speed.  So stick to your cart-on-treadmill concerns and I'd appreciate it if you did not imply that the failure to record a balloon video means that the BB failed to overtake a balloon, as that is false.

Here he is correcting you, when you misrepresented him earlier.

Science / Re: Direct Down Wind Faster Than The Wind
According to MikeB, the cart could not even catch up to air-filled balloons that were released near to ground level,
No, MikeB said that the balloons blew off to one side.  He did not say that "the cart could not even catch up".

The balloon test failed in the sense that it proved nothing at all, and you're (dishonestly) trying to spin it into evidence against ddwfttw.  It shouldn't surprise me, given your extremely dishonest track record.

Bullshit. More Lies and excuses. He said he thought the cart was catching up but OMG the camera broke, or some horseshit.

That means the cart was behind and never caught up with the balloons.

Remember, the balloons were at or near ground level and the propeller reaches about 20 feet into the air!
I suppose wind gradient is something else you choose to ignore or do not understand.

The cart was no where near wind speed the whole time!

This is a fucking FARCE and a SCAM.

I'm pretty sure none of that is anywhere close to what Mike said.

Germany. Since American voters have chosen that we abdicate our position. Russia or China might be leaders, but not of a "free world."

I'm happy my news app never told me about this, then. Although, it did repeatedly tell me that octopuses are aliens. As is requisite.

You're never supposed to ask a witness a question, unless you know what their answer will be. Haven't you seen A Civil Action, Dave? Also, you can kinda assume every question you ask here will be answered in whatever way will be least satisfying to you, or TR will take a sporting shot at doing so, at least.

Heinz, you're having a little breakdown. Maybe get some fresh air?
