Basic geology is not what is needed. What is needed is basic honesty.
Basic geology is needed to understand basic geology, Dave. Something you seem to profoundly in need of itt.

Basic honesty would go a long way in reversing the hideous damage done to your brain by creationism, but sadly you seem to be beyond repair.

Yes, I do think all these geologists are wrong.

Proving it as we speak.

Stay tuned.
Have you started "proving" it yet, Dave? It was supposed to be "as we speak" and so far there's only been some rather tame poo-flinging.

Dave is an example of why YECs shouldn't be allowed to raise children.

By the time they are old enough to go to school the mental damage is usually irreversible.

Yabbut what he does have is personal incredulity fortified with a bunch of 'friggin's and ALL-CAPS exclamations. He can see the walls of Jericho starting to crack!

I got a question for all you octohatters out there.

How much did it help using a lot of FRIGIN CAPS, and different color fonts in you doctoral dissertations?

There actually are Air Force and Navel aviation bases very close to some of the nicest vacation spots in the US.

I was only speaking to the feasibility of the logistics for Dave's post.

His ability to misunderstand any data is pretty well known.
4
And I am personally incredulous that anyone, let alone Dave, was ever given the "keys" to a USAF supersonic jet so they could go to any beach anywhere in the US any time they fancied a swim.

They have to keep their hours up, and even at economy cruse in a T38, you can cover 500 miles every hour.

This really isn't as out there as Dave makes it sound.
5
On a side note...
I had the keys to a supersonic AF jet for almost 10 years, remember?  I could fly anywhere I wanted for free.
Wow.
I had no idea the Air Force handed over the keys to supersonic jets to pilots, and told them to go ahead and fly anywhere they wanted to go.
Sounds like something Scott Pruitt might want to look into should the stench of his corruption get too stifling for even the trumpublicans.

Actually, to maintain flight status, pilot have to fly a certain number of hours per month. Unless there are exercises planned, they have quite a bit of flexibility in choosing cross country flights.

Everything is anthropomorphic with Dave.
7
Seconded, seriously.

One of the things I learned early on following these discussion boards, when a competent person is trying to explain something to an internet crank/idiot, pay attention. It may save you from asking embarrassing questions.

RAFH ... here's an engineering problem that you would be good at.

There is an underground drainage pipe in one of my fields which drains right behind my new house site. It's about 8 inch diameter plastic pipe and I'm guessing it's about 100ft long and connects to a drain opening in the middle of the field.  I haven't actually been able to find the drain opening but it's got to be there somewhere because cool air comes through the pipe and water does to when it rains.

It looks to be buried around 5 ft deep so it's in pretty cool Earth. If the temperature at the pipe level is 65° let's say, how many BTU's of cooling capacity can I theoretically expect to get out of that pipe by pulling air through it?

He's a lot like Trump.

Pingu is Dave's Hillary.

One of the defining characteristics of conservatives, is the complete inability to describe what normal people think, or their motivations.
11
Photon cares about my ex-wife and kids. I'm touched!

I just hope you didn't fuck them up as much as your parent did you.
12
After witnessing Dave obvious disconnect with reality the last couple of days, I'm kinda starting to feel sorry for him.

This is far beyond the normal internet crank/troll/jerk, and completely into cognitive mental illness territory.
13
Just as an aside, it does my soul good to see a Trump supporter get as pissed off as Dave was today.

I know it's petty, but I still enjoy it.  :smug:

Let me ask this another way because you have a titanium cranium.

How do you explain the 9 year leveling off of atmospheric methane given the fact of the livestock rate of increase going from 9 million head per year 2 to 17 million head per year?

So, it couldn't have been something happening in the other 80%+ of the rest of the methane emissions?
Not only could have. Had to be.

Give this man a prize.

:???:

I don't think he's understood what you told him- Yet.

So it's not just me?
15
Hint: there is only one plausible answer, and the IAEA has already published that answer, and Allan Savory has pointed that out.

And that answer is....?

And you have the unmitigated gall to call him a shyster for doing so.

I really should call your department head and tell him or her how badly you are behaving while posing as a credentialed professional scientist.

oh fuck off Dave.  Seriously, just drop this stupid schtick.

No you go fuck off. Better yet go back to your Ivory Tower where they apparently pay incompetent dishonest Liars to teach kids and then take their money.

And stay away from here.

Your ilk is THE problem in our world today.
That's awesome. Full tantrum.
What's gone so badly in your life that you cant even be civil, Dave?

There's nothing that will fuck you up worse than a full on missionary fundy childhood.

... says the guy who enthusiastically supports Donald J. Trump
who is in fact more honest than any politician I can remember. And a hell of a lot more honest than the likes of you.

So, your definition of honest is different than the rest of the world?

What does Savory do with the idea of holism? Good question and I can answer that. Let me ask you the same question. What does Holling do with the idea of holism? Can you point to one of his projects?
Yes.

testy cannot answer this question
Dave cannot understand the answer.
20
Either that or she really sucks at explaining her view.
Or, quite possibly, it's you that doesn't understand, primarily because you don't want to.
You've demonstrated this habit many times previously. with C14, Lake Kalksjon, Lake Suigetsu, Varves, Dimetrodon, Turkey Guts, the Saulk sequences, helium in zirconium, the Great Rift Zone, evolution, the Grand Canyon, sloths, Tyre, pyramids, measurements of any kind, Newton, dendrochronology, Portuguese, rain, deserts, history, languages, economics, arboriculture, diseases, Keystone species, sedimentation, erosion, DNA, mtDNA, astronomy, and a whole lot more.
wow. That is a pretty astonishing list when you write it all out like that.
He did miss orbital mechanics. No doubt there are others.

Just consider, without being an intentional troll, how bad his parents must have fucked up his critical thinking skills in his formative years for him to be so wrong on all those topics.

Child abuse takes may forms and some of the worst don't leave scars, or even the awareness it happened.

Dave, I'll help you out by telling you that savory is using one of the original explanations for holistic thought (which is summarized by the whole is greater than the sum of its parts). You can't tell the taste of water by looking at its reduced chemical properties.
Right. And many other characteristics about it. Which was my point. But most of the goobers here want to intentionally miss my point because they are dicks.
Possibly because they haven't been trained in systems logics. Since you used a textbook example,  it helps to have read the particular textbooks. Again though, why single out pingu who knows more about systems than you are even capable of learning? I pretty much guarantee she knows that example.
Because she has been particularly verbose in explaining her view of holism which is nothing like Allan Savory's view. Or my view.

The more likely possibility is you're fucking stupid.

Any farms like Joel salatin's examined in that study?

You are dodging the question, aren't you?

It's an unanswerable question, Dave. The study is a meta-analysis.  Your question would be a bit like asking of an opinion poll: "but did they ask my Aunt Jemima"?  If you want to make a statistical inference you need to look at samples of farms in a range of categories, which they did.  And these included what they call "conservation agriculture", "organic farming" and "integrated systems of best practice". Whether any of them was exactly like Salatin's we can't tell, and I'm sure even if you could, you would claim some key difference.

Which would entirely miss the point.

"No True Salatin"
23
I would like to sea Pingu substantiate this claim of hers or else quit claiming it.

She did in the very post you're apparently talking about you fucking idiot.
24
You know what they say about fools keeping their mouths shut?  You should try that.
Dave, all your latest posts can be summarized as: "Trump knows aaaaaall about global trade. What, you think otherwise? Have you ever owned a business? Well I have and I used to be really rich so shut up".

Surely, at some level, you see the irony there.

I pretty much guarantee he's intellectually incapable of that.
25
Hey now, he's got some help from conservative judges and Congressional Republicans.

In other words, Fascist supporters.
