this way we all get killed by a guy with a ridiculous moustache instead of a guy without one.

wow I was like "I hope the world hasn't burned down while I've been off the grid in rural Brazil" and it seems my hope was misplaced
Well that plus the general "well there's a ton of fake refugees to the point that maybe all refugees are economic migrants" and "the methods aren't good enough to tell who is real and who is fake." I can't tell you the color of city hall in my hometown. Or my current city of residence, for that matter. I certainly couldn't tell you after fleeing on foot from genocide and bombs, living without enough food and without shelter, and then waiting in a refugee camp with untreated PTSD in a language that I may not even be able to speak. The article gives the impression that these people are failing very basic tests of day-to-day life, but I bet most people couldn't answer those questions.
he wants to get back to basics. back when australia was founded as a penal colony for a bunch of white criminals.

Looks like Trump was hiding the fact that he's exactly the type of person who would want to be pissed on.

so you're saying it's an ackbar meme from Web v1.0.1.4
Not a midterm, but the PA special election is terrifyingly close.

There was a 95 vote difference a few minutes ago..  Now it's about 800 votes and 99% of precincts reported.

I'm one of those democrat absentee ballots in Allegheny County. You're welcome.

You shouldn't have felt bad. Sheltered people need to know what war is like. It's one way to turn them into pacifists, or at least to give them stark reasons to work to prevent wars, and to encourage others to do the same.

My dad's parents both lived through some of the worst parts of WWII.

They did not turn into pacifists. They turned into vehement anti-fascists.

Pacifism is not always the right response.

Literally Duturte
I'd watch that show if it wasn't reality.

we all knew Trump is an antisemite, though.
Regardless of the methodology, we do know that shy trump voters are a thing and we also know that there are a lot of efforts in place to disrupt voting in democratic strongholds. It will probably be a lot tighter than the dems expect and it will likely not totally turn the tides of the House and Senate. The possibility that the 2018 elections are not enough needs to be given serious consideration especially given how much the Dems are putting off actual opposition.
you can turn a brownshirt blue with enough rope.
anyone waiting for a blue wave is probably gonna wait forever.

honestly if I were california I'd raise a well-regulated militia and use to to block all ICE actions in the state. With force if necessary.

That matters only if (1) there is an existing martian biosphere (unlikely) and (2) if we have no intention of terraforming Mars.

This is one of the reasons I hate Elon Musk so much. He's still part of this process of trying to privatize public goods, even if he's doing it in the guise of electric cars and private space travel. Privatizing the space program is a horrible idea which will deeply and permanently harm our species, but it will make Musk rich, so away we go!
