Saw it tonight. Good god it was a fucking mess, but I kind of enjoyed it anyway. Way too many useless subplots.

I did think it was visually pretty stunning in a way I'm not used to seeing in Star Wars, especially the scene with Rey, Emo, and Snoke. And details like the red dust on the mining planet added a little life to the dragging plot. Like by the time you're on the billionth omg chase chase chase sequence, at least that breaks up the monotony.

Leia Poppins was so dumb and absurd, though. What the fucking were they thinking?

you only say that because you hate the ethnically diverse casting decisions.

take it up with meep. I'm still in an uncivilized country where I'd have to watch Mark Hamill dubbed over in Italian.

No, he's just very near.
Why do I bother?

You know who else is tall? Adam Driver, my friend's brother-in-law.

It was a mess.  People are being nice to it because it was Star Wars. Objectively, a pretty low-end film.

I kept not making it to the theater and now work has started again and I'm going to have to see it in a beer and pizza theater with no 3d.

yeah. It is. We have quite a few independent theaters attached to pubs around here but they don't have 3d.
I'll probably see it at this one:

maybe meepmeep thinks it was a bad movie because it was ruined for her by Ty complaining the entire film about how none of those things would ever happen in real life

Did you have to open loot boxes at points to advance the plot?

That would have made it better.

I'm insufferable when there's medical shit on TV. I try not to Neil deGrasse Tyson everything up, but sometimes it slips out, and I'm even more annoying than usual! :meeps: So if anyone is guilty of beep booping about things not being realistic, it's probably me. :sadcheer:

Also Ty did complain about the bombers (how do you drop a bomb if there's no fucking gravity), but that is the only thing I can think of that he complained about being unrealistic, except for the objectively terrible Leia floating through space magically thing. And during that scene all I could think about aside from lol are you kidding me is how the only thing that happens to her body when it's literally blown out of a ship and thrown into the vacuum of space is that she frosts over a tiny bit. I mean there's Jedi powers and suspension of disbelief and all but jesus christ.

I wonder why they didn't mention that in the movie.  They must have been too busy with their ethnic casting.
