Falcon-9 launch window starts at 1:30 pm today
I'll have to remember to go out on the balcony to watch this afternoon.

Traffic towards the Cape started getting heavy this morning.

You're not fooling anyone with your fake concern about the center core. I've seen you with your two side cores.

The two boosters landing in near perfect synchronicity was pretty amazing. Too bad the third one missed the ship. After action reports that only one of the 3 engines fired and it hit the water pretty hard.

most of the astroid belt is between earth and jupiter orbits
the astroid belt is not a defined orbit more like a region of space

imho leaving earths orbit and orbiting the sun in that zone qualifies it as in the astroid belt

Elon Musk Said His Tesla Would Reach the Asteroid Belt. Astronomers Say He's Wrong

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENXvZ9YRjbo
Except the headline is wrong. Astronomers didn't say, some astronomers said something, something such as "might not get there" and "Some are saying" and "I'm not convinced yet." This all in a Fortune magazine article. Possibly not the best resource for science.

Seems like Musk may have accomplished a possible goal, to more prominently wave his much bigger dick than anybody else who reads Fortune. I'm pretty sure no other Fortune readers have sent their personal Tesla Roadster (or whatever vehicle they drive) out into space enroute to Mars or somewhere like that. And that none are in any position to do so. Maybe Branson but he'd just be a wannabe second place. Plus he's nowhere near getting a vehicle into earth orbit much less out of it.

My boss talked about how much he admires Musk for being willing to risk his own money to do this.

I had to remind him that Musk actually used hundreds of millions of dollars in government grants to do this.

Didn't really phase him too much. And that didn't phase me too much either since my boss is a Trump guy.

Callout ST: Can you change the title to say "Falcon Heavy" instead of Falcon-9?

Musk said he doesn't plan to fly people on the Heavy - that will mainly be used to launch supersize satellites. But he's accelerating development of an even bigger rocket for deep-space crews - "a beast."

Musk is a true American
