Oh yay! Another climate science denying twat in the new cabinet.

Matthew Canavan says there is 'uncertainty' around impact of climate change

Quote
The new resources minister, Matthew Canavan, has warned there is still a level of uncertainty about the impact of carbon emissions on global warming and described the Adani Carmichael coalmine as an "incredibly exciting project" for Australia.

Canavan, who has previously called for funding for climate change sceptic scientists, is also responsible for the Northern Australia Infrastructure Facility, which will decide whether to recommend the Queensland government's application for a federal loan for the Adani railway link.
Adani are desperately trying to offload the whole project because it's not economically viable any more. India is giving up importing coal.

Seriously, how the fuck can he be this stupid and still get into government? This level of idiocy should be enough to automatically disqualify him from holding public office. Malcolm has screwed the pooch again.

Nup. All feathers and no meat. This is the same government that got rid of the carbon emissions scheme and gutted all science research funding in 2013.

Australian Capital Territory Labor Government (Canberra ) on the other hand, did this: http://www.canberratimes.com.au/act-news/act-commits-to-100-per-cent-renewable-energy-target-by-2020-simon-corbell-20160428-goh1l9.html

Farmers welcome partial backtrack on CSIRO climate cuts, but call for all jobs to be reinstated

Quote
Minister for Industry, Innovation and Science, Greg Hunt, has instructed the CSIRO to renew its focus on climate science, promising it would be a "bedrock function" of the organisation.

He has revealed the CSIRO will create 15 new climate science roles.

The national research organisation announced earlier this year that it would cut 275 jobs, with climate-focused roles in its Oceans and Atmosphere, Land and Water, and Agriculture divisions hard hit.
That should give you an idea about how good this news is. IOW, better than cutting another 15 jobs, but not nearly as good as keeping the old 275 jobs.

Basically, half the LNP gummint thinks climate science is a hoax. The other half are useless anyway.

Jellyfish are special in many ways. For starters, they have neither a brain, nor a heart. They have only a single opening through which food comes in, and waste comes out.
I immediately thought hey, One Nation voters! :parrot:
