Default Recommend a Game to Me

I have an XBox 360 and a Wii but I prefer computer games.

I have been playing the new SIMS Medieval which my son calls a gateway game, lol.

I am pretty much already bored with it.

I also used to play Spore which I adored. I played it until it also was boring. I think I blew up planets just to see what would happen in the end.

These are the kinds of games I like though.

Can anyone recommend a computer game that is not all guns and killing people, but has fun quests, etc.

X3: Terran Conflict. Space trading game. Its basically a modern version of Elite. (You could of course get Oolite which is Elite).

There's a billion fan-made mods, and some of those made it into official bonus content. They just released a new game/expansion via steam, and there are already add-ons for this popping up, as well as the promise of more official content to come.

Don't diss me. I am dumb about video games. I just started playing them. Spore and Med Sims are the only two I have ever played.

if you acknowledge that you're dumb, i'm not sure how prompting you to take stock of your dumbness is a diss tbh

I really, really wanted to get into this game. I just couldn't. The combat was tedious. What was I doing wrong?

What did you find tedious about it? Too easy? Too hard?

I just thought the graphics and challenge would be better in a new game.

I really like the character development ones like Spore and SIMS.

So, I am looking for something along those lines.

Hmmm, I know there aren't characters per se in the Civilization series but maybe you'd like one of those. I think they are up to Civ 5 now.

I like them. You get to develop a civilization from the Stone Age to the Modern Era. Plus you can eventually nuke your neighbors.

That is exactly what I am looking for. I cannot wait. I have a cold/virus right now so I am sending my son to buy it for me. I told him he could buy a new game too, lol.
