In many places like wiki youll see mentions of orchids needing a fungal associate to thrive. While this is true, over 90% of ALL flowering plants have fungal associates (mycorrhiza) and in most cases, both the fungi and plant need each other to survive.
These pink ladyslippers like acid soil like white pines.
This is from Haliburton Ontario Canada a bit farther north, and surprising for an orchid (to me).

I have many native flower pictures from Ontario, as I've been working with the native plant society of Ontario.
We too wish to eradicate the hated, invasive, Garlic Mustard!

I can upload, or search for plants that other forumites might wish to see.

Was that taken this year? Here in Massachusetts, the cardinal flower is just starting to grow. More pictures are definitely welcome.

Tubercled orchid, Platanthera flava var. herbiola

An inconspicuous plant with tiny flowers. Listed as Threatened here in Massachusetts, when I reported this population to the state Natural Heritage program last year I discovered that it was a first record for my town. I'm happy to see they're back this year.

California Poppy (April, Santa Monica mts)

Scotch Broom (I think...) (Also April, Santa Monicas)

Scarlet Columbine (6/21, San Gabriel Mts--Icehouse canyon)

What works for me when images don't load:
Right click on question mark icon
Select "Copy image address"
Go to that address and view the image
Return to the thread and the image will be visible in the thread as well.

Off topic:
Is there an amphibians thread?
I saw a five-lined skink last week in Haliburton.
They are the only lizards found in Ontario, and usually only in the Georgian Bay region, or down on Lake Erie.
