To be fair it wouldn't have mattered if he got up, and he probably knew that. Weren't they down by like 5 touchdowns at that point?

that may be right. even so, for the money he's making, he can make an effort anyway. partly because big comebacks really do happen once in a while, though only for teams that don't give up like that. but more importantly because most of the reason these guys get paid so much is to put on a good show for the audience, and going to sleep in the middle of a play like that is not putting on a good show.

Did you notice the announcers constantly bring up Vick's redemption?

They must have a stake in seeing a black QB do well, amiright?

they talk about his alleged redemption too much. it is inane and a lot of it is probably false. they should just focus on his redemption as a QB, which has been amazing. i was 100% wrong about him as a player. he is, for the first time, a good passer. if he stays out of trouble, the eagles look like geniuses.

i don't know whether he changed his preparation and mindset, or it is that he finally has competent coaching. probably both. there are some valid reasons to bitch about reid as a head coach but he is one of the very best offensive/qb coaches to be taught be holmgren. in atlanta vick had dan reeves (offensive garbage, even with elway) and then those other jokers. they can't even compare to reid's wco schemes and qb coaching.

To be fair, Vick also had absolutely no incentive to change when he played in Atlanta. Now he's playing for a contract - if he doesn't perform or screws up off the field, he's probably done.

I agree with a lot of this. I am fucking sick and tired of hearing about his redemption. Frankly, I don't care. I cared a few years ago, I don't any more.

The guy was 20 for 28 with 4 TD passes and 2 TD rushes. That's insane and I think he is more than a "good" passer. From what I saw last night I'd say he's as good as Tom Brady was in 2008 -- if he can get the same amount of time to throw the ball on every play as Brady got . . . and it seems he got that Monday, and will hopefully get it the rest of the season.

As far as Reid goes, I think he's a phenomenal coach when it comes to offense. I think the Skins caught the Eagles' defense napping a few times, and those were the times they scored. McNabb is dangerous, and if you give him the chance him getting the ball where it needs to be isn't even the issue -- it's having someone there to take care of the receiver.

Haha, can't believe I completely forgot about the MNF game until just now. This game was so hyped that for a while I thought I was just imagining the game that the Redskins and the Eagles already played this season.

I agree with all this Vick redemption stuff, the point is that he can't redeem himself for torturing and killing dogs by playing football well. If he donates all of his money to rehab/shelter for abused animals then that would be something.

well, he does go around to schools and shit talking about his mistake, but i don't buy it.

in sports/entertainment/politics though you can do whatever the fuck you want and be "redeemed (lol)" by orchestrating 60 point come from behind fantasy football wins

plus the guy who has to block haynesworth is eventually like, "fuck it", and he blocks #99 instead, who otherwise had a great chance to hit vick.
oh yeah i see it now.

haha, the poor guy was probably pretty tired from playing all that defense.

lol yeah he plays, what, 15 snaps a game now?

this one shows more of the glory

#99 beat peters and should have had a clear lane to vick. but he gets blocked because haynesworth is doing whatever he's doing on the ground. maybe vick would've avoided the hit but that was close as hell.

eta; lol, haynesworth even manages to get in #99's way while he's beached on the turf

Josh Hamilton redeemed himself. Michael Vick is still a dog torturing and killing piece of shit no matter if he scored 17 TDs in one game.

Haynesworth plays when he feels like playing, but when he does he can do what ever he desires.

We have all known this for 8 years.

I heard on the radio today that everyone (don't know who qualifies as "everyone") is predicting an Eagles/Patriots Superbowl. Also, this isn't not a Philly/New England station, it's a Jets station.

that seems more like a hype pick. i would go with gb or nyg over philly at this point, but this week will be a good indicator of how that might go.

Jets fans are morons, so that is not surprising.

an afc pick of ne, indy, or pitt is pretty much a no brainer you would think. the nfc is a cluster of mediocre teams that show flashes of potential, but at this point i'd probably go with the giants because of playoff experience.

eta obviously NO is in there too but they have their own issues and i'd go with a non repeat team, being the nfl.

I think the Eagles are going to beat the Giants this weekend. The only thing is, the Giants defense is a million times better than the shitty Redskins, so it isn't going to be nearly as easy. But objectively (if I can be, maybe not) I think the Eagles are more put together right now. If they can give Vick enough time to throw the ball, they'll pull it off. I don't know that the Giants have anyone in the field who can keep up with DeSean Jackson, that guy is a fucking squirrel and you can't catch him, and he's been on fire lately.

I try not to pay attention to Superbowl picks before the play offs unless you're talking about obvious disqualifications like Detroit or the Dolphins or the Bills, or the entire AFC west lol. So much can happen in the play offs, any predictions before then don't really do anything for me.
