Because I've had to deal with people who have been extremely rude and in your face about it. Like, I'm not saying that all breastfeeding must be done in a locked room with no windows, but there's a certain level of consideration that some people just don't fucking afford the people around them.

This is, frankly, part of a bigger issue of inconsiderate parenting in general. There's a subset of parents who think that they are exempt from interacting considerately with other people because they have young children, and that subset pisses me off in general.

Well, my point was that it would be highly unusual for a woman to make a show of it. Can't really think why any woman would.

I've met women who make a show of it and then get angry and confrontational when someone points out they're being rude or inconsiderate.

Define "making a show of it".

you look so dumb right now

Asking a woman to breastfeed in a bathroom is disgusting, and the idea you can breastfeed whereever you can make a phone call is just plain dumb. It's nto inconsiderate to feed an infant in public. it's actually less considerate to not feed your infant in public and just let it scream bloody murder until you can find a place suitably away from your precious eyeballs.

They aren't being rude or inconsiderate. They're feeding their baby. "Making a show of it" is Toothspeak for not acting all ashamed of their existence.
You are being rude and inconsiderate.

I would like to know what putting a show on would look like. Sounds like projection to me. Maybe those who think they are getting a show need to have their relationship with their own mother examined.

i have literally never seen anyone breastfeed the way people describe (by popping out their boob and walking around uncovered). i've seen plenty of people breastfeeding and heard passerbys complain even though far less is exposed of the chest area than your average cleavage wearing chick.

I don't think women should breast feed in public either.

Matt also has the answer to this question.

but to answer your question public nudity laws prevent women from going topless, so if you were walking around topless in most public places you'd probably be breaking a law. however doing so unintentionally or accidentally is not cause for arrest in most states.
