Default Cheney links Iraq invasion to 9/11 attacks - AGAIN!

How stupid and gullible does the adm think people are? In Iraq, VP Dick "Chickenhawk" Cheney said
Quote:
This long-term struggle became urgent on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001 . That day we clearly saw that dangers can gather far from our own shores and find us right there at home," said Cheney, who was accompanied by his wife, Lynne, and their daughter, Elizabeth. "So the United States made a decision: to hunt down the evil of terrorism and kill it where it grows, to hold the supporters of terror to account and to confront regimes that harbor terrorists and threaten the peace," Cheney said. "Understanding all the dangers of this new era, we have no intention of abandoning our friends or allowing this country of 170,000 square miles to become a staging area for further attacks against Americans."

In the quoted paragraph, he did a perfect job of implying the 9/11 terrists and Iraq have something to do with each other. However, he (carefully?) didn't say there's a connection.

Bastard.

The electorate voted for them.

Twice.

I believe that answers the question definitively.

Not quite.

The electorate voted for this administration just once. In the 2000 electorate, the plurality of voters voted for Gore. The election was determined upon the votes of five of the nine Supreme Court justices.

There are those who suspect that the 2004 election win by Bush/Cheney was based upon Diebold. I hold this as a possibility.

And, of course 9/11 had a great deal to do with the invasion of Iraq. It gave the liars and spinmeisters of the administration all the propaganda they needed to pull the wool over the eyes of the American public. It had nothing to do with al Qaeda operatives, or Iraq being a base of terrorism...it had everything to do with the gullibility and ignorance of the American public.

It's obvious that the 2000 election was bungled, and there's a strong case that can be made that the 2004 election was rigged.

Actually, the electorate voted for them twice, as it is broken up into 50 separate electorates, with power distributed partially along he size thereof. That the Supreme Court made a very questionable call is irrelevant to whether or not the electorate did vote for him.

The margin of victory in Florida was within statistical error margins. This means that, realistically, there is no way to determine who actually won. That a media-conducted recount demonstrated that Gore won a hand recount is not necessarily indicative of anything--with millions of ballots, and the margin less than a few hundred either way, one error out of 10,000 counted is enough to significantly sway the election.

The fact is that it was legally determined that a further recount was not to be done. I disagree with their reasoning, as it was highly flawed, but the stark reality is that is would be possible to conduct 500 different recounts of the ballots, and none of them give the same result.

Yes, it is a possibility, but given that it was publicly demonstrated how to actually get physical access to the important part and upload your own vote total, it is equally a possibility that there were several forge attempts by agents on both sides--it just so happens that the side with the more underhanded experience won that contest.

All this is moot. Insofar as they are concerned, the Bush administration was chosen by the electorate. That is why they operate the way that they do.

Enough are quite stupid and gullible enough for Cheney and W to keep repeating the same lies with good effect.

They aren't trying to convince their critics, just to bambozzle the ignorant. Don't knock it -- it works great!

(That's one reason I just gave up on living in the US, though sometimes other countries can be just as bad.)

There is an alternative explanation:

They really believe it. They actually and honestly, deeply in their hearts, believe it to be true.

That is fucking scary, and most likely to be true.

But how? All the evidence clearly points to.... Wait. They're Christians. Never mind.
